Hi Everyone,
I fine writing and introducing myself to people difficult and embarrassing due to my dyslexia.
My spelling and grammar are appalling and I rely heavily on my phone for auto correction which constantly let's me down.
I also find I don't have sufficent vocabulary or ideas to come up with clever or witty lines to be I catching.
Dies anyone else have this problem and any solutions? |

It's not just the spelling and grammar. It's having the range of words to kae a conversation interesting other than, hello I'm so so would like to get to know you. Anyone have any really good introductions? |

Introduction is just the opening line. You'll find that people are generally interested in what makes you "you". No copy and paste paragraph will get you anywhere. |

Read the profile and talk about it, shows you have taken a Interested and then just be your self and what your likes are. I am the same, rely on phone auto correct alot or I use voice type on my phone if I have a word I really can't spell. Mrs b x |

I always double check spellings on google if the autocorrect doesn't look right to me...
Take your time when sending a message.
Most people are fine as long as they can see what you are trying to say easly... |

I'm dislexic myself. At school it was a major issue due to idiots picking out your every fault and using them against you.Once I got older I didn't really care anymore as people were mature enough to realise it wasn't my fault it's just the way my brain is wired so it wasn't mentioned. That was until I joined here and the sad act librarian idiot spelling police inflated there ego bubble by picking on every fault of others. But it's gone full circle again as I no longer care about them lol.
Don't ever be imbaresed about somethings you can't help and don't ever let idiots spoil your fun here as there intention is to push you out so don't let them.long live auto correct and long live freedom to be here for all x |

Thanks everyone for your support and advice, I do read the profiles and try very hard. It puts me straight off if people mention spelling on their profile. Anyway I will persist and keep you updated, someone has got to like a trier somewhere!!! |

its often not the spelling errors that piss folks off, ( lets face it we all do them) its often the txt spk!!! type of messages, if someone tries with messages the likely to try with at a meet and vice versa! (just saying!) |

Your lack of photos is more likely to put people off than you having dyslexia.
I would suggest putting something on your profile, like "I'm dyslexic so please excuse any bad spelling or grammar."
This will make people aware of it and it won't put people off.
If you can I would suggest going to organised socials, you will find them advertised on the meets and events forum. They are a great way to get to know people and you don't need to rely on messaging only.
