So we have been doing this stuff for a while now and we kind of notice that people come and go and it got us thinking how many couples, once they start this lifestyle actually maintain it for years and years?
The Swingers Club thread got us thinking because there seems to be this never ending threads about first timers st some of the top clubs. By now all these places ought to be packed to the rafters week in, week out unless there is a big attrition rate.
What do we reckon?
We are talking only couples here but we reckon around 50% continue to dabble and the other 50% either split up or pack in. |

7 years for us , and there aren’t that many couples that we know of that are still swinging or still together from our early days . Having said that we have never been ones to stay in touch with many people we meet , so our view may not carry much weight . |

We've been at it over 3 years now. Of the people we still keep in touch with I think only 1 couple has split.
I think the bigger issue is that at any given time half of more of the couples we know will be taking a break from swinging, rather than broken up or done with it all. But that might be more about age than anything else. |

We have noticed and wondered exactly the same.
We have belonged to a swinging group for about six years and during that time we've noticed a large number of couples who join and then after attending every party for a few months, drift away and don't return. Conversely there are couples who have remained with the group for many years, 10+ ! So it's a real mixed bag.
People leave and give up swinging for a number of reasons, but you're right; the attrition rate is high. |

We have 50 years of swinging between us. Although there have been partner changes over the years we've both been swinging as a "Couple"rather than singles the whole time.
We've been together swinging for 10 years.

I don't think it's unique to swinging, loads of people join gyms in January, how many are still there in December?
Who here has started a foreign language course and a year later can still only ask for 2 beers?
Tons of white belts, not many black belts etc etc |

Was absolutely just thinking this. Of the long term swingers I've spoken to the vast majority have had breaks from swinging - changes in libido, life events or new relationships. |
