I don't like the phrase at all. Beautiful to me is defined by the face. A woman is beautiful, average or not so beautiful on this basis alone for me. I am clueless at judging sizes anyway. I like what I like. Not a great answer granted but there you go. |

They say that a size 20 to about 26 is BBW. But to be honest, it can go on height as well. Shorter women will carry their weight more than taller women. If you notice, in women's plus size sections of catalogs, the models don't really look that big. This is because they use very tall women to model the clothes, rather than women of average height but larger weight. Things are getting better, though. |

BBW is a term that is normally used inplace of "fat" or "obese" to convey the meaning, without being considered a blatent insult.
We all know what it means. In most cases, it really does not mean: -
Big Beautiful Woman
Please do not misunderstand me, I love ladies who are curvy and cuddly and (I will whisper it) fat. There are those who can carry it off so well. In fact most of my relationships over the years have been with women who were real BBWs.
Does anyone remember the sexy photoshoot Dawn French did some years ago? That was so hot. She has a lovely face anyway, but super large curves too.

It is subjective.
Big - subjective. Bearing in mind that even clothing manufacturers can't agree sizes, labels don't help.
Beautiful - subjective. Differing people have differing ideas of beauty. A pretty face to some may not appeal to others.
Someone who is labelled BBW may not necessarily be beautiful or indeed big.
That is the problems with labels though. |

"This isn't going to end well
I thought that, but I jumped in nonetheless. "
Opinion asked for. Opinion given.
You can't please all the people all the time. Either say what is on your mind or waste time by telling people what you think they want to hear. |

I find the term BBW quite vague. I don’t believe you can pigeonhole it into a certain size, more of a generalisation. BBW to me means a pretty lady, who is overweight for their height (not meant to sound rude in any way). It’s all down to personal interpretation really. I’m not really a fan of labels and believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Yes this is what I meant!
As a bigger woman I find it a compliment when I am called a BBW. And a lot of guys prefer bigger girls to slimmer girls.
I know I'm big (fat) but I don't mind, people can like me or leave me.
Xx
Thanks everyone for your comments all good for thought xxxx |

Xx " isn't it size 18+? Ladies have different shapes and heights so varies |

"I think "curvy"starts at 14 plus size.but it's all different."
You'd be wrong. Curvy is a shape not a size. In the most simplest of terms, a woman who goes in at the waist, think hour glass. |

BBW as a term just makes me cringe. It's almost like a consolation prize- "it's ok, I can still be beautiful", but funnily enough that beauty is only accepted facially.
Beauty is skin deep. Beauty is subjective.
Thank fuck there are enough people in the world to go round us all.

Depends on a woman's height, and their boob size plays in too, and where they carry their weight, But I guess generally it's around the 18+ mark.
But here's a question... What size does the term ssbbw start |

Not convinced a lot of guys prefer bigger girls - or slimmer girls for that matter. I think most guys are less hung up on size than we ladies are!
I think that a pretty face and a great personality will attract chaps whether the lady is a size 8 or a size 18+ xx |

In America, they say if you're over three hundred and fifty pounds in weight, you're ssbbw |
