AVS was tried and failed once before. Personally, for me it's the responsibility of parents to ensure they know what their kids are up to online, and to educate them properly about online use.

The BBFC took over the UK Internet last year but until Brexit they can't enforce age verification, all adult sites will have to be credit card entry so free porn sites will go.
With 1000's of legit porn sites people will still have enough porn to watch but will do away with piracy safeguarding both the producers & most importantly children.
There are 100's of amateur pay sites as well as all other niches.
People got their wishes with Brexit a communist state, Europe wouldn't allow our government to do this but with no one now to protect us the UK have a free hand to do as they wish. |

If anything, it's going to be detrimental to the adult film industry. Porn sites utilise free tube sites. Basically they put up short edited videos, and they serve as an example for what the full site can offer. At first the porn industry was complaining about free tubes, but then some companies got wise to the use of them and turned it to their advantage. Just expect porn to go more underground after April. We know the government have fetched AV in to fuck over the adult industry while saying it's also set in place to end piracy too with all free tube sites being closed down too, with years knowing of this coming most of us professional companies have set up abroad so we were well warned of the UK's Victorian attitudes & the none protection of Europe following Brexit.
The government plan now is to charge a £10 fee each time someone wants to look at an adult site but this will be changed to a one off credit card payment where you get a code, may adult companies will be forced to close if the don't pay the license fees the BBFC want.
If porn goes underground it's a win win for the industry as the Internet ruined porn anyway. |
