Occasionally. But we all make typos sometimes so I don’t let it worry me. And I might want to put a capital letter at the beginning of sentences sometimes too . Mrs x

No, I'm fully aware that people make typos, people have learning difficulties, not everyone on here s first language is English, some people just can't spell. Auto correct doesn't always help.

And ( yes I know sentences should start with an and) some people just like to find fault in others and belittle them.

I can honestly say no one has ever spelt me into bed!

No. I can usually understand what people are saying. If I can't I ask for clarification. That's usually a grammar or syntax error though.

I like to think I can tell the difference between a genuine typo or autocorrect error and some of the really bad spelling mistakes around.

I also try to allow for speed of response in chat and messaging, unlike in profiles. Your profile is supposed to be showing the best of you, so why wouldn't you make it as good as you can?

Well that’s the point. What you’ve written there isn’t the easiest to understand. It would have been much more difficult if it hadn’t been on a thread discussion about spelling, grammar and use of incorrect words. Spelling mistakes I can cope with but using the incorrect word is just wrong.

Punctuation can saves lives. Think about these two sentences. “Let’s eat, children.” versus “Lets eat children.”

Essex.

my pet hate is people that write long threads on the forums and don't use any form of punctuation, capital letters or use txt speak i am dyslexic but do my best to spell and punctuate correctly and it annoys me that people always use it as an excuse.

If I am unsure of a spelling I use google as a spell checker.

I understand that people have problems spelling but think people often use dyslexia as an excuse when they are being lazy...

Not just the forums, some profiles too.

Yesterday I saw a status asking if 'Any ladies would like to kick my pregnant pussy?'

Obviously spellchecker had done it's work. So I politely messaged asking her to check the status, which was promptly changed and got told to fuck off and blocked. You try to help some people.....

Is it rude to correct a dyslexic? Or should one let the spelling errors slide by, or would that be like not holding a door open for someone in a wheel chair?

No. I don't.

As long as I can usually understand the gist of what someone is trying to say, that's fine with me.

There are plenty of others who like to point out and correct others mistakes to try and ridicule them.

It's usually guaranteed, to put me off people when I notice them doing it.

I occasionally make the odd typo if I don't proof read a post and am trying to get in on a hot or not thread without getting a bloke before me.

Some forumites are dyslexic and that is apparent, or quickly becomes apparent.

However txtspk. Unless you are of a certain age, you are unlikely to remember a time when texts on phones were limited to 180 characters or whatever it was, you couldn't string several messages together or kik / faceache messenger or whatsapp didn't exist.

If you are capable of learning textspeak, you are equally capable of learning English or unlearning textspeak.

It is lazy. Nothing more. Speed has nothing to do with it when autocarrot can do the donkey work.

Some abbreviations used in txtspk aren't new. Look at Byron or Shelley's letters, you will find 'yr' and I think even occasionally 'u'.

There's no gain though in 'ov' or other examples. If you can't spell a two letter word correctly there's a problem.
