Okay. As my opening line i have nothing against BBWs, this is not a dig at BBWs, it is just a curiosity of the term BBW
as we know it stands for BIG BEAUTIFUL WOMAN
okay i concede that a larger woman can indeed be beautiful. therefor they are infact big beautiful women as the title would suggest
HOWEVER
there are ALSO big UGLY woman (as there are skinny ugly woman)
why do they still go under the term of big beautiful woman? why do people call them as such? infact why does the term exist?
it to me EITHER emplys that their size automaticly makes them beautiful which is not the case
OR
that they are called beautiful because they can get away with it and no one blinks an eyelid. If you had a skinny say size 8 girl saying skinny beautiful woman people would go on a shitstorm of about how she is so up herself and vain etc etc etc but if she goes to say size 18 and says big beautiful woman its acceptable?
i dunno i just find it an odd term to use to describe someones size, throwing in beautiful wether that be the case or not

for myself and using the term, I am not stuck up and think I am god's gift, it is just a term that is widely recognised to mean a woman of larger proportions...a guy looking at my profile and seeing "BBW" will know straight away if I am someone who may not appeal to him,if he perfers a slimmer woman or that I may be right up his alley if he likes a girl with a bit (or a lot...lol)of meat on her bones...I don't think that we(BBWS) think our size makes us automatically beautiful or that we think we can get away with it...and you will find that a lot of larger woman do not like the term either...me personally it does not bother but then again I never really looked at it more deeply than just a term to let people know I am a big girl |

I, like the others that have posted, don't think of myself as beautiful but it is a term widely known so i use it to let people know my size. I will and do use other terms too but BBW is the most widely recognised. |

Not all larger/curvier/bigger (etc...) women use or even like the term 'BBW'.

I've not seen any posts where bigger women come into a forum and shout 'hey - I'm beautiful because I'm big'. That's just crap. Most bigger women use the BBW to identify their size - not their looks. As others have said, the initial-ism BBW is purely to tag a body type which can then be avoided or sought out depending on someone's preference.
Let's not regurgitate the 'beautiful big Vs beautiful small' thread again PLEEEASE!!

Not many bigger women would be conceited or naive enough to state they are beautiful purely BECAUSE of their size.
BBW is an identifying tag - nothing more. On a profile, it allows guys to express a preference ... to seek out or avoid as desired.
So why are we subjected to this constant trolling regarding three bloody letters? It's becoming tedious to say the least

I do often think that the smaller lady often finds it difficult to believe a guy or guys can actually like the larger lady, beautiful or not.
I knew one lady who often remarked "why the hell would he want HER"
iTS all about choice and not the labelling .

To the OP - why do you care why the term BBW is used. I personally don't care what people call themselves. And not many really believe they are ugly, so describing oneself as beautiful is really down to personal choice and its not up to you to be the judge of whether you think someone is beautiful or not.
I don't know how you describe yourself in your profile but I bet you've used positive terms such as sexy, gorgeous etc. What if I don't think you are, should I be allowed to request you remove those terms? No of course not cos you believe it of yourself. Whether anybody else does isn't really an issue is it.
People should just carry on swinging in their own way to their own rules - stop thinking about what other people are calling themselves or, and I hope this is not the case, try and put people down with starting a thread pretending its just a question you wish to ask |

The term Big, Beautiful Woman is an extension of that, in that why does the 'Big' part need to be there in the first place - can a woman (whatever her size) simply not be beautiful ?
Moreover though, the line i hate most is :
'she's big, but she's got a lovely face'
You hear that so much, it's almost become a cliche.

Personally being a larger woman myself I never use that term. Just my opinion and all that but why would we need to label ourselves. Slim ladies aren't SBW - slim beautiful women are they ??
Everyones definition of beautiful is different so I am just ME and I don't need any label.
I see a lot of people get very defensive about this and I can't see anything wrong in the question asked.

when people have on their profile BBW its a term aimed at a group of people, used just to let others know they are larger ladies
Now if you looked on a profile and it was worded in a way to call themself as a individual beautiful then thats just vain lol no matter what size and most dont like vanity or see it as attractive

To the OP........we understand what your getting at but bottom line is the "beautiful" part is not to be taken literally.
Its a Yankee P.C ism, designed to help a section of society, who may have self confidence issues, feel better about themselves.
We're sure a great many large women would never describe themselves as beautiful, no more than slim ones would, its just a phrase that has become universal.
Its the same as Gay, when used to describe homosexuals, some are probably as miserable as sin but they're still Gay.
Both are just labels for certain groups in society, not literal descriptions.

Im attracted to BBWs, although not exclusively, and so I find the term very useful, not only in making decisions about possible meets but also gives an indication of how that person feels about themselves, which us more important than their absolute size.

When I first heard the term 'BBW' I thought it meant Big Black Women... have since found out otherwise, lol, I know I am a large lady but I wouldn't consider myself beautiful.
The term 'UBW' (ugly big woman) doesn't roll off the tongue like 'BBW' however, 'BUW' (big ugly woman) does, so we could if we wanted consider ourselves as a 'BBW' or a 'BUW' whichever you prefer I guess, and I know some ladies are niether, myself included but 'BOLW' (big ordinary looking woman) doesn't sound quite right either.

I intially questioned the use of this term but I guess its personal choice. I was moved to comment on the subject soon after reading the Forums and being surprised to see lots of larger people bashing slimmer ones... the usual no personality, vain etc then calling themselves beautiful in the bbw way. It is just seemed to smack of hypocracy and I felt that they were knocking others to make themselves feel better.
Personally I enjoy being in the company of attractive people of both sexes and have found that size has nothing to do with measure of personality, intelligence or anything else. What a ridiculous idea that it could. Peoples weight differs throughout their lifetime generally speaking and although can affect self esteem usually doesnt affect much else. I can understand why the OP asked the question.... and of course everyone is entitled to answer the question. Difficult situation on a site like this as you do need to sell yourself in a manner of speaking, especially if you choose not to show verifications so think a little licence should be granted. I like to see someone describing themselves as attractive, goodlooking, whatever as it shows confidence I think. I will soon know after speaking to them if they have an out of control ego or not. Would also know if someone who is a little larger has a chip on their shoulder about it which is equally unattractive in my opinion.
Personally I dont do labels. Im unique as is everyone else. Beauty, well I guess we all have different tastes...although most people do agree in general on the beautiful or the visually challenged. Looks indeed arent everything but on a swinging site, well they are a good start. |

I am a BBW but would still describe myself as beautiful even if I were a skinny minny. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and doesn't always mean external beauty even though I am pretty dam gorgeous myself lol x

nothing to do with size, therefore bueaty if not only for thin people or large people....everyonme has their own thoughts of what or who is beautiful.
