I've walked through the scanners loads of times with piercings. I got stopped once in Stansted last year and had the full rub down experience but whether that was a random check or something more specific they'd seen on the screen I don't know as I wasn't stopped this year. There are so many people with piercings it won't be embarrassing even if you are questioned.

A normal metal detector arch is unlikely to activate on a couple of piercings.

They will show on a full body scanner image bit it will be obvious what they are.

Nope. 3 piercings here and never set off the detectors. Walk through xray portals every day at work and never set them off either.

Worked security and piercings are definitely not big enough to set off an archway. The handheld will pick it up but in that area chances are it'll beep for the zipper on your trousers first.

The number of times I've heard people joke about their Prince Albert setting the arch off and I'm like "seriously, have you any idea how big a piece of metal has to be to ping this? It'd be like having a lead fishing weight hanging off the end of your cock!"

I have a large P.A. piercing, which I have had for many years. I have never set the scanners off at any airports.

Returning from Morocco recently though everyone was frisked. The guy doing me was thorough and had a good feel of the end of my cock and the piercing.
