Do women seek female mistresses?

As has been observed in other threads, there are lots of women who identify as sub on Fab, and relatively few who are domme. But are there many sub women here who seek a mistress experience, rather than (or as well as) male dominance?
It seems less prevalent, which is curious as so many submissive women here are also bisexual.
It would also be useful if Fab had some way of searching along these lines. |

Oh I wish it was easy to find a female sub who wants to play (or learn, or experience)
Although maybe I'm just the one with the run of bad luck of starting to talk to someone, I think they seem legit, then they either disappear off the face of the earth.... OR they then suddenly announce how they want their husband to join in... |

Mrs filth has a big soft spot for authoritative and stern ladies so a dominant woman would be right up her street but finding one either single or as part of a couple hasn't happened to date but maybe one day she will find what she's looking for |

Although the tautology in the title is annoying (‘female mistresses’? Are there any other kind of mistress?! ), it’s nice to see it’s not off the radar for some women here.
But not as popular as we’d hoped, either! |

"Depending on my mood I can domme or sub and I’m happy with both male and females dominanting me as long as I know they can handle me, unfortunately most can’t "
Why can’t they handle you? |

I must admit to being curious about it. |

I get a lot of fakes, I’ve been in the lifestyle since I was 13 and some think because they’ve seen 50 shades so know what it’s about unfortunately, not all are fake but there are a lot that don’t get it and just want right sex when it’s not about that |

Am very new to the world but I have had a Dom and a Domme, both I have met with them and their sub's.
Am a switch I believe as I very much enjoyed any play that meant I had control over the female sub.
Would love to explore this more. Xx |

It really is, it drives me nuts when people use 50 shades as a rule book |

*hugs about the age thing*
As for the rest of it. Oh goodness yes.
The amount of people who essentially think that what is essentially slightly rough sex is BDSM is just laughable now. I know what things to mention to separate the wheat from the chaff, varying forms of edge play tends to scare away those with no idea. |

Of course, those who really understand BDSM play will know it’s mainly play of the mind, but why seek to look down on people who don’t know better?
People have to learn, and no matter what sparks their interest, if they find what they do fulfilling that’s a great thing, as long as it’s safe and consensual.
All too often people into BDSM seek to establish themselves as superior to others who are less experienced, or who have their own differing but equally valid enjoyments. It’s really a very unattractive trait, and not one to be celebrated. |

I generally agree with this post, except for the comment 'people who really know Bdsm'. My experience is that people who know bdsm know you have factions that do not agree with other factions. Given that the community cannot agree something as basic as what is a sub or dom there is not much scope for agreement on anything else.
Therefore the only true BDSM is the individual interaction between two or more consenting parties. As there is no true way to perform BDSM, (obviously abusive and non consensual behaviour are not true ways). |
