Hi

Chatted to enough people to know there can be some creepy guys on here. Sometimes you don't find out what they are like until you meet though.

How many lady's know any self defence? Anyone know what to do if this go bad quickly?

I teach self defence as a job. Quite happy to put a few tutorials up on YouTube on how to hit hard and hurt a person enough to get away. Also how to get out of hair grabs, chok es and even if your pinned down on your back with a guy between your legs.

Would anyone be interested in something like this? Not something I would charge a penny for. Just feel it might be useful for some.

And if you have had an experience like that, even in normal life and want to know how to escape let me know.

Just putting it out there.

Yup and plenty of guys who haven't a clue teaching things on there too. I've got 26 years of experience of what works.

After being harassed in public the other week I'm beginning to feel very unsafe on this site.

On the odd occasion I meet men on my own, I tend to go with men that work in the same complex as me, I'm lucky to work in a huge complex so there is a huge choice of men without the awkwardness of having to work closely together.

This doesn't mitigate all risk but at least know their real name and where they work should things go not as planned.

can teach them better in person. Can teach you a few things easily on video and can and have given coaching over video. Not on about teaching everything in and out, but some basic things useful to know.

in my experience, teaching physical skills of that kind has to be done in person. People are generally physically inept and these skills require more motor skills than they are given credit for. They require repetition to the point where they become natural to perform and an instructor in person to correct people doing them incorrectly. It's irresponsible to claim that you can give people skills to defend themselves without correct instruction and gives them a false sense of security that can lead them to over confidence that they can 'take care of themselves'

I’d like to learn some defence. I’m strong but even I have been incapable of stopping a guy.

A man with an errection is a powerful thing. Especially when you choose such big men.

OP the proof of the pudding would be to make a few videos and see if people watch them and if you get positive comments.

Don't just do it for Fab women

I agree that nothing can compare to one to one training, but if any of the videos on YouTube inspire someone to take a self defence class, then they have achieved good

Rachel you know that really doesn't read well at all. It shouldn't matter how big or horny a guy is, no means no. It reads like you have been attacked ....

Word. Most people would be far better off investing their time in learning more about ways to mitigate their risk of getting into the situation in the first place.

Having participated in many self defence/ control and restrain courses over the last 20 years I would say, yes, by all means, teach self defence. However, until something becomes second nature it is not very useful. Better to teach an understanding of how not to be at risk in the first place.

Seeing as so many consider the word ‘tranny’ as offensive, perhaps he is.

On a plus; he used the correct pronoun when he called her ‘her’.

There can be a million self defence classes -

But what is NOT being addressed by any agency is where the responsibility really lies - far far fewer campaigns teaching consent.

As a man you don't actually have experience of being a girl and a woman.

Only a man could say 'IF' regarding sexual harassment/assault, we women (and I include trans ladies here) experience it most days.

Personally I've taught my daughter the lessons it's taken me all my life to learn - trust your gut, don't take any shit, if someone does attempt to assault you fight as dirty as necessary.
