"Is this site bad for mental health and giving people a unrealistic view of what sex is about?"
I think if a person's mental health isn't great to start with here isn't always a good place for some.
And anybody who has an unrealistic view of what sex is about ( whatever that actually means) already had views that weren't dissimilar before they joined |

I think you have to learn how to play, it's different from what I expected when I first joined. It can be disappointing when you spend time chatting but the person backs out. It can be demoralizing if you get knocked back or a meet isn't the fun you were hoping for. But all in all I,d say my confidence has improved since I started playing. You have to learn to develop a thick skin and suck it up. Fun can be had if you stick at it. I find its best not to get into arguments with other forum posters and if it's just an opinion you're posting on a thread then leave the comment and don't revisit the thread. It can be damaging to people's mental health, certainly yes I,d say. In which case it's best for the member to leave Fab or rethink their strategy. That said a non swinging relationship can be bad for mental health also, in certain circumstances. XXX |

I’d say the opposite.
It’s gives people the view that we’re not living in the olden days anymore. If we want to satisfy a sexual need, we can. We can do it amongst a community of fellow liberated people and by enlarge without judgement.
Those who are still hung up on old fashioned attitudes towards sex may think we’re all having a depraved orgy-fest, but the reality is the majority of us actually have much more healthy outlooks on sex.
Conversely, this site does seem to have its fair share of playing-away married people, not that I’m judging them at all but I think that may give a flawed view to those of us in open and honest marriages about how many cheaters there are in the real world!
Like anything in life, it’s only going to be bad for your mental health if you abuse it or make poor choices |

I honestly think if you’re a couple on this site it can be mentally challenging, especially dealing with emotions. You’ve no idea how you will react when you see people you care about doing things previously only reserved for you in private ! We’ve been in this scenario where people haven’t been in the right frame of mind or have been doing it for the wrong reasons and had to deal with the aftermath - not fun ! If your not mentally stable it’s not a good idea on my opinion- for what it’s worth ! |

Fab was one of the best things we've ever done! We've become more confident, adventurous and comfortable discussing sexuality both between ourselves and with others it's healthy! Let's talk about sex! |

Most are pretty fucked up when they arrive.
Porn has alot to answer for.
Although there does seem to be an awful lot of guy's in their 20s and 30s who seem to have the same mental attitude towards sex and women as a 14 year old.
Some of the post's and questions are the sort of misguided stuff me and my mate's talked about when we were teenagers. |

As others have said, your mental health depends on where you're at, not what the site can do to you.
As for an unrealistic view of what sex is about that will depend on the person too. Someone who thinks the women on here are free porn stars will be disappointed.
Personally Fab has given me a VERY realistic view of what sex is about. It's mutual enjoyment and lack of inhibitions. Something I never thought I would experience |

"I often wonder if couples are doing it as a last ditch attempt to stay together. "
There maybe some couples but I think the majority just enjoy this as a bit of extra curricular fun that is mutually enjoyed. It is for us.
As far as your first question though. I think this life gives women an ego boost and seems to deflate some men. This is a generalisation - not aimed at all. So for guys that I hear comparing themselves to other guys, no I don't think this is a healthy environment for them. |

Some may be , but not all .
We were together for a year before we started swinging , got engaged a year later , and married five years ago . We have never considered that we swing to stay together at all . |

Best not to take it seriously - it's a bit of fun in a sometimes dull world. I wonder if anyone has met a long term partner on here or even got married to someone they met here! I can hear the theme tune to 'Blind Date' as I write! Lol |

"I think OP has made a decision that this isn't healthy for him.
No point being here if it fucks with your head. "
As you said I think it can be soul destroying for Mr average single guy. You will get rejection after rejection. My advice for single guys who want casual sex.
1. You're hot and have social skills: you will do well here. Fill your boots.
2. You're hot but have no social skills. Go to a club and keep your mouth shut. Some women will fuck you for your body.
3. You are average looks wise but have good social skills :go to a club and talk to people.
4. You are of average looks and have no social skills: you are unlikely to pull a single woman or couple. Go to gangbangs or greedy girls nights. |
