Fake verifications

I'm sure this topic has appeared before, but I just wanted feedback on fake verification experiences. All you need to do is to set up a fake profile, lets say a guy sets one up using a new email address other than the one he's already using on here, pretends to be a woman, then sends his male profile a fantastic verification saying how great he is. How the hell do you know for sure that veri's are genuine therefore? Even if you were to message the female verification to ask for confirmation, you'd actually be messaging him, so of course you'd get a favourable reply!!

It seems that fake veri's could be so easily set up! Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to sniff them out??

think following a trail might be better. Look at the verification and see who has verified the girl, if its just the guy it might be justified to have reservations, but if the girl has other verifications from other people and you check those and they have verifications etc, it might be kosher. I know a faker could set up a really long chain and lots of fake profiles but its a lot of hard work if most of those profiles are pretty empty of content.

There ain't no hard and fast rules, some of us have that 6th sense and we 'can just tell' Just go with your gut instinct - if it seems wrong, it probably is wrong

Would'nt the 'fake' profile need to be verified before being able to verify others?

I don't read verifications, they mean absolutely fook all, and I wouldn't dream of contacting someone who has left one for someone and ask them for a rundown.

One very important thing you need to realise about verifications is that just because someone has turned up and met someone else, it doesn't mean they will turn up for you.

I wouldn't dream of contacting the verification sender either under normal circumstances and I haven't done yet either. However, if someone contacted me to ask for confirmation about a person I have verified, I'd be glad to be of service because it'll be doing the inquisitor a favour, and I'll be glad to recommend my meets to other women anyway.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

You can only verify if you have been verified, so a guy pretending to be a girl would have to be damn good at it to be verified as such.

If you have access to 2 different computers you can verify a fake profile.

So many people have done it, and it's been frequently reported.

All you need to start off is a genuine profile with one genuine veri. The rest of the fraud is easy

I have access to three PCs. Mwaaaahahahahaaaaa.....

To be fair the OPs query was with a male pretending to be a female, not a genuine person with a genuine verification. Just seems a lot of work for nothing though because, as you said earlier, veris are nice to read, but I meet people with or without them.

This is my point. It seems it's such an easy system to abuse, it makes me start to think why bother with them.

It makes a mockery of verifications this. How come it gets reported then? How come they get found out in the first place?

O o O oo

All you have to do if you think someone has a fake verification is to REPORT it from their profile and Admin check it out.

I am shutting this now, incase anyone gives away any suggestions of how to fake a verification.

Report profiles.
