It varies on the location/people a little bit. I'd recommend taking a walk, and people will likely make a gesture if they're interested: it helps to smile, and seem friendly, and it's also worth chatting with some of the other people there. You'll likely get to pick up on some tips, from watching them, speaking with them too.
