First ever post, be gentle.
I started chatting to a guy on here and we swapped numbers. He asked what I was doing and I said i was led on my sofa, wanking.
He then replied saying to delete his number. When I asked why he said that he wasn't gay.
I explained that I was a woman and took a selfie (top half only) confirming this but the messages on WhatsApp didn't go through so he must have blocked me.
A bit later he messaged me on here saying that I should have said i was playing, not wanking as only men wank.
I've been on this site many times over the years and I have always called it wanking and this is new to me and has stuck in my mind.
I would like to hear other people's thoughts. |

he might just be stuck in his ways as far as terminology goes and he's gotten the wrong end of the stick. i suspect most folk wouldn't assume you to be a guy  |

I've always thought of wanking as what men do and playing as the female equivalent - but there's no definitive rule so call it whatever you want to. The guy in question only had to ask rather than act like a petulant teenager - I'd tell him to do one! |

I think he over-reacted, but in fairness I can see why he thought what he did, as very few women we have talked to would use the word "wanking", usually using some other way to describe what they were doing... plus, if it was us, we'd be suspicious of a woman being so descriptive (sexually) so early into a chat, that's very unusual.
I'm not saying what you did was wrong, it would just be different to how we would usually expect a woman to respond.  |
