A lot of people like to build up a rapport with someone before jumping into bed so just saying am in your area on this date doesn't work for them, Maybe try and get talking to a few women regularly and hope that your paths cross when you travel |

How I see it is those of the 'I am visiting your area, fancy a meet?' persuasion are just looking for a hole. Any hole will do. They are not interested in me as a person, who they may have some fun with and a few giggles. They may as well book an Escort, cos that is certainly not how I swing. |

yep...its the same as when we get winked by someone from miles away with "trucker" in their user name...it means they're parked in a lay by a few miles away and have blanket messaged every couple in a 5 mile radius... |

Knowing I'm going away for a week I've planned and talked to people in that area. I wouldn't just pop up in the area then try. Needs to be a connection no matter where you are  |

I agree with the first response you got.
If one were visiting our area and therefore wanted the meet to take place quite soon then there'd have to be a lot of effort put into the profile and or message to cover all bases so as to get the meet arranged within a few messages/hours. |

one of our quickest turn offs is im nearby its like saying you are not worth the effort of a long journey we find it difficult to make the effort to reply to those messages

While I can see the point of views that make it unpopular and maybe even at times insulting. (I'm not a tourist attraction has been my reply to some I've had recently)
I also see the other side of this. I like the idea of one off illicit encounters in hotels. No hang ups worried about what they are really thinking because you never expect to see them again. However respect, manners, effort and attraction are vital on both sides. |

Nobody wants to feel like a convenience. While at base most one off encounters are just two people hooking up for casual sex and it shouldn't matter whether they live in the next street or the next country. Many people like to feel as if there's more to their meets than just sex. |
