Genuine question, what's the difference between a shemale and the others. Is that a TS? And a TV being a man who doesn't identify as a woman, but likes dressing as one?
Also, if there's such a distinct difference shouldn't this site have two categories as TS and TV would seem to be rather different things? |

It's a bone of contention on here mate, Transsexuals don't want to be labeled as TVs or share the same Tag.
Rightly so IMO. |

" yes there should be an option to distinguish cd/TVs from trans women. The simplest way I break them all down from what I feel the different options are is as such.
Crossdressers - dress pretty much for sexual gratification, this also covers people that only partially dress as in men who like to just wear lingerie. Literally just cross gender dressing.
Transvestites - these are the girls who will go full woman mode such as myself, it is not only for sexual gratification as one may simply just spend the day as a lady without any plans for a meet or masturbation, it is just part of who they are but they are only part time women.
Transwomen (or the more offensive 'shemale') - are women who live their day to day lives as such. They may have no intention of getting surgery or they may but they live their lives as the sex that they feel themselves to be.
This is how I classify everyone anyway |

My personal definitions.
Cross dresser - man who enjoys wearing female clothes, but doesn't try to appear female.
Transvestite - A man who tries to pass as female, clothes, shaving, make-up.
Transexual - A female, in a male body.

OK thanks, that makes sense. Then with such different people in such different stages, only having one category for all 3 is a joke really!
Is there a post/petition to have that changed anywhere? |

As is my understanding shemale is a (often pejorative, but not always) term for trans ladies, and you're spot on about TVs.
As for them being lumped together... Probably shouldn't be, but c'est la vie

I don't mind that much being lumped in with CDs because unless your in the scene most people on the outside just go, 'a man in a dress, it's all the same' which kind of belittles my efforts a bit but oh well, but trans women and men should definitely have their own category |

It's worth searching the forum for the many threads discussing this with the arguments for the status quo or reclassifying everyone. It's a complex, highly personal and sensitive issue. And gender, with sexual orientation is not a simple black and white matter that the world has a right to know about someone else.
Treat people as people, for the individuals that they are, including their personalities - shag more than the body. |

"Love the thought of being fucked by a shemale
Me too, being fucked with a strap is good, but to think it is a real cock in there mmm"
Wouldn't want it to be a guys cock though, something about shemales, especially a dominant one |

Agree 100%.
The 'shemale' comment makes me cringe, partly out of incredulity that someone actually said it and partly because its feckin disrespectful, even for a swingers site |

Almost there
The only removal would be 'transexual' which is becoming a bit outdated now and medicalises things which need not be but this can be contentious in some cultures who still use it (wrongly)
Transgender is a better 'cover all' phrase IMHO, it wouldn't offend... |
