Being a newbie, and a single guy, and not had a verification yet, its seems a bit crazy that some socials dont allow single guys or unverified. Surely a social, by its very nature, is a place to meet and mingle and maybe get verified. Can anyone enlighten me why this is so?

because a lot of guys don't get what a social is.

i never limited guys from coming to mine but i did ban one guy i knew would be a sex pest and likely to ruin my social. as for randoms if their profile showed no hint of them being able to socialise then i also didn't want them to come.

people are taking time out to arrange these socials and so they can do whatever they want. it takes some organising.

Because an unverified guy is an unknown anomaly. People who organise socials put a great deal of effort into such.

Because of this, they want the social to be a success, what makes successful socials are the people that turn up. The people that turn up are regulars on the scene, that attend socials and clubs predominantly. An unverified guy is a risk, a big one, because no one has vouched for you, the social organisers can't prove whether you're a decent guy.

I understand that it's a vicious circle for you, how can you get verified when no one will give you a chance right? My advice would be to attend a club, chat to a few people and get verified. This then puts you in a better light for future socials.

Start your own social or find a local one that does allow single men or look further afield.

A lot of socials are in regular pubs. Nothing to stop anybody just turning up. We went to one once. It wasn't publically advertised, but word spreads and quite a few single guys turned up. I don't know if many of these guys had any success, as a lot of couples who attend these socials tend to be mainly interested in other couples. Although we did meet a nice guy at that one.

Not all socials are like that though, and once you are verified you can attend any you choose.

We've been to a few socials, never heard of anyone verified or not being excluded. Very strange.
