So sparked from another thread about can people actually spot FWB/FB couples that pretend to be "genuine" (for want of a better word) couples.
I'd like to hear from FWB/FB couples.
Why do people get into an FWB/FB relationship, and then why do you swing with that FWB/FB?

A fuckbuddy is generally someone you only ever see for sex. A FWB is just that, a friend who you also have sex with, so there's more to the relationship that periodic fucking. |

Mr here.
I have a fwb situation. We are both married and our partners are aware. We are great friends and their was always huge sexual tension between us. However we would not make a good couple. This works for us.
She doesn't swing so we don't play with others and only meet once or twice a year. But when we do the sex is explosive |

We are FWB we live apart approx. 80 miles from each other but meet regularly and enjoy the club scene. We love sex with each other and meeting other people who enjoy the same things that turn us on. Swinging brought us together as we met at Eureka but now our friendship has been made it will always be there, regardless of how long we will continue swinging   |

One of the guys we play with has a FWB whom he swings with as a couple. He suggested we meet her one day and see if there is any chemistry. That's nice that a single guy can bring something to the table other than himself. One of the reasons we don't meet couples is because I hardly every fancy the man, and on the rare occasion that I do it would be inappropriate for me to form a special bond with if he is not single. But if I have hand-picked a guy of my choice and he has become my lover, and then he offers us the option of playing with us as a couple, that resolves the problem. There's also a FWB couple whom we party with. We met him first before he introduced us to his FWB. She has since introduced us to her other FWB. It's great as we can play with our friends in whatever capacity suits - together or separately. I like that flexibility that we are less likely to get from a 'proper' couple. When we have house parties we try to encourage single guys to bring a date, so that our guest list is a mixture of singles and couples. Again we find this balance gives a more flexible and fun atmosphere. I can't say why all these people swing as FWB couples as I've never asked them. I can only guess they like to have a partner in crime to attend parties with. I would do the same if I were single. I'm not aware of FWB couples pretending to be something they are not, but that's maybe because they wouldnt have to with us.
