Getting old...

Oh dear, as it's my birthday today, I see Fab has automatically updated our ages.. This means we are both now 50 and therefore 'out of the age range' of a lot of people we may otherwise have liked to meet. We don't intend to change anything on our profile but have many of you come across people who are claiming to be younger than they are on here? We'd rather be upfront and honest and find that age is merely a number... we met one couple where the lady had definitely 'massaged' her age - and photo!

Although I (Con) am 46, Baz is 53. We are honest with our ages and have not found it a problem with organising meets! We have even had meets with people that we were out of their age ranges. As you said age is just a number. All it takes is for people to realise that you are fun loving, easy going and still ready to rock and roll! Happy birthday!!

Prayer for Senility:

.

.

God grant me the senility

to forget the people I never liked anyway,

the good fortune to run into the ones I do,

and the eyesight to tell the difference.

I was 50 when I started on here and have done ok. We do have friends who are older than I am, but their profile says they are both under 50

Age is just a number...

There are many people who don't care if you're 50 or 49... and nor should they - you're still the same people!

Don't worry about it and carry on having fun :D

"depends how well uve aged "

these are generalisations, but i find :

facially at least, bigger people tend to age better than skinny ones

latin people look good (and usually younger than their years) until they get to a certain age and then, bang - look like they've put an old handbag over their head and cut 2 eyes out

unless you want to look like a LEGO figure, men should avoid using black 'just for men' on their hair at all costs

oh and another thing !

why is it when you see a man in a wig, it is invariably a reddish coloured one ?

I do find it amusing when people say "age is just a number", doesn't work if one partner is 30 and one 15, or 30 and 90!

People seem to get "funny" when they're "excluded": struggle to understand that to. I learnt on my mother's knee I was never going to appeal to everyone: so what! I'm 50, don't have a line or wrinkle and Clairol are wizards are hiding my grey and the girls at the salon adept at plucking out any grey eyebrows after they've waxed!

There are stunning 50+ people on site and younger people that don't mind the older swinger. Look forward to the years of fun still ahead of you. Forget about those that have no interest in you and simply...enjoy!

Happy birthday!

And usually an illfitting one? If you're gonna go to all that effort at least make sure it's a natural colour n it fits!

I think that if you have a young outlook, a youthfull demeaner and if once you get to 50, you are able to resist the urge to dress as if you're in a Hovis advert, you will still get meets

As I've said earlier, I was 50 before I started here so was already over the "threshold" but we've played with loads of people younger than us, in fact just checked our friends list and we only have 2 couples where one of them are older than me.

Look at it another way, if you think that being over 50 excludes you from too much fun, why not concentrate on the over 50's age range?

If you think, "No way, they're too old and wrinkly" lol, then you know what some of the younguns are thinking when they look at you

You can have any colour you like, providing its red.

They walk around thinking " I must look good, everybody is looking at me"

We look back thinking " why is he wearing a red carpet on his head"

Even though i get told i look alot younger than my age i like to be truthfull and dont dr my age.

Does anyone else feel old when your looking on meets and the parties say no over 30's? Wasnt long ago you you couldnt get into a night club cos you wernt 18.

I get the same thing. So I started cheating on the age on the profile just to get past peoples search filters. Had up to date pictures on my profile so they could see what they were getting. Still got remarks of "you don't look your age". I've seen people in the chatroom who seem to use 10-15 yr old pics on their profile.
