Got a narrow boat booked in July for a week on the grand union canal. Family trip, we've never done anything like this and will have youngsters with us. What kind of thing should we expect? Hoping the fresh air and country side will give them a break from the digital age. Any tips/advice from seasoned boaters greatly appreciated |

Went on a couple of narrow boat holidays when I was at school, absolutely loved them, will never forget the Tardebigge Locks on the Worcester and Birmingham canal, 30 locks in just over 2 miles!! We were exhausted at the end! |

There is a guy on here we spoke to once, was offering free weekends on his bout in return for sex or just to watch if you didn't want him to join in, sounded quite appealing |

"maybe we could get a chat room open for boaters
Yes that would be a good idea
And what about cummerbunds and other esoteric items of clothing too? " whatever you wear is upto you. Some of us like to be relaxed when on our boats

"Family has a 40ft boat on the Trent and Mersey at Willington.
Look out for the decorated teapots on the roof.....
A little more reliable than the 1970s pampas grass on the lawn"
pm with where abouts and name. We are also there.

I'd love to PM you, but alas, the filters prevent this. If you drop me a line, I'm happy to oblige |

I spent a fab week with a guy I met online on his 60 foot narrowboat last summer, we posted messages each day to let people know where we were mooring each evening, so we could arrange for people to join us onboard for fun. Very relaxing and enjoyable cruising, lots of locks and walking between them, nice food and drink in canal side pubs, and some intense and exciting evenings... Can’t wait to do it again.. |

I’m on the Trent and Misery at Barton.. heading down the Cov and then up the Ashby next week if things go to plan. I was moored in Willington recently, a couple of days before the tree fell down.

"we are on the coventry and should be back on the T & M sometime over the next day or so."
We might pass like ships in the night.. I’ll be in Barton Marina until Thu then I’ll head south... maybe we can arrange a social when we cross paths. You were brave to be in the rain today |
