I used to enjoy it before I started this (while I was still repressing, some might say.) Now I see it as the most tasteless bit of trans exploitation ever. It has one central trans character - a murderous pervert with absolutely no morals. Yup, that's definitely furthering the cause. |

You can't even get trans people to agree to the definitions. What you're describing there is a fetishistic crossdresser, in my book.
For my money, the difference between a CD and a TV is that the CD is still happy being Derek while the TV wants to become Doris, if only for a while. The 'trans' in 'transvestite' means it falls under the T in LGBT+. It is a matter of gender identity, even for those who only dabble occasionally.
Crossdresser literally says you are a man dressing as a woman (or less commonly a woman dressing as a man.) But you're still happy in your usual gender role when you do. You just get something (often, but not always sexual) out of wearing the clothes.
But lots prefer to identify as CD rather than TV because they think TV is the seedy, fetish side. Where did that idea come from? Let's do the timewarp againnnnnn... |
