Oral sex is producing dangerous gonorrhoea
Jump to: Newest in thread
For information from the BBC website. I know everyone makes their own decisions but information helps the decision making.
"Oral sex is producing dangerous gonorrhoea and a decline in condom use is helping it to spread, the World Health Organization has said.
It warns that if someone contracts gonorrhoea, it is now much harder to treat, and in some cases impossible.
The sexually transmitted infection is rapidly developing resistance to antibiotics.
Experts said the situation was "fairly grim" with few new drugs on the horizon."

I'm just waiting for the danger brigade to pile in and shout you down for telling them what to do, and how dare you spoil their fun, live your own life don't judge mine blah blah blah.
News like this makes me want more fully clothed dates with some heavy petting rather than quick risky fucks. |

"Well, no danger in men catching it from me through oral as I hate receiving it! Worrying news though.
No.. it's mainly caught by receiving blow jobs unfortunately amongst other ways of course."
Receiving, i.e. from the giver? From saliva?? |

I think you could only receive the STD as an oral giver only - or you would be able to catch it from kissing. |

"What's wrong with using condoms? for oral you mean?
Sorry - yes - use a condom for giving a man oral. No point men giving women oral because 99% of them don't have a clue." see id give up this lifestyle before id use condoms for oral. I enjoy it to much. I am well aware of the risks. And men can still catch something from women if they are going down.
.yes its good to be aware of the risks. |

In that case 3 months into relationship most blokes have nothing to fear. |

Since I started driving , I've always been aware of the risks but I still drive every day .
I still cross roads where there's no pedestrian crossing , fly on planes , and shock horror I smoke too !
I've even been known to eat the odd fried breakfast , and eat cakes now and then .....
So this isn't gonna stop us enjoying oral sex without condoms or cling film , it's just another risk we are happy to take .

What you doing on this site then ? It's not a site for fully clothed dates and heavy petting, that's what we did when we were virginal teenagers in cinemas . |

People bang on about bareback sex is dangerous which it can be yur putting your trust in that person being STD free. But STD's are also spread through such as blow jobs also if the man has a STD it can spread through him cumming on your face in your eyes. The best way to try prevent this is to get regular checks and try not to just fuck just anyone as if they havn't had regular checks they can be carrying a STD. |

Yes I agree , be selective and weigh up the possible risks of the person having an infection and Get regular checks. XXX |

Most people think you can only catch STD's from bareback penetration how wrong are they. Anyone can have 1 and they might not know they have 1 until its to late or some dnt give a shit if they have 1 and pass it on anyway. So regular checks is best and know the person your going to do something with. |

Knowing the person your going to swing with is a good thing and regular checks on everyone as STD's can be transmitted in more ways than unprotected sex. Clinics are a good thing and people go to them for other things than check for STD's. We have seen some on here what just wnt to meet someone they dnt mind who it is or where they have been and just have sex. Then there's dogging do you know these people if you do anything with them and where they have been. Dogging to us could be at the top of the list for catching STD's. |

Absolutely untrue , well at least in our case it is .
We get checked every six weeks , and are more active than most , and in six years haven't been unlucky enough to catch anything .
However , it does have to be said that although we frequent dogging spots , the regular guys only get to cum over my wife and not in her mouth . The actual play is reserved for those we meet with from fab .
So regular checks , staying clean , and being careful are the ways to avoid all std's from our experience . |

I learnt the hard way a lot of years ago about catching a STD from oral without protection, stupid really when I think about it !! you wouldn't have unprotected sex, so why oral it's still putting it in a wet hole where the infection can live and be passed on !!
I am very careful now, and plenty of checks |

Which part is untrue then go read up on different STD's and how they can be passed on or ask next time you go for your 6 weekly check. STD's are carried by anyone and if a man if infected and he cums on your wifes face near her eyes she can get a STD that way. |

Kissing can spread sti correct. If a person has oral sti infection.
Go to a sex health clinic and ask about rates and percentages. I go every 21 days since 2009 as am sex industry it is very interesting when you speak to health advisers and get to know them over time. The information is very precise on stats and historical evidence .
Simple thing is people should test monthly if engaged in casual Sex so as can contain any accidents quickly . As for condom they only protect to some degree in some acts . People have to make their own personal choices with levels of risk vs sexual reward .

Which part is untrue ?
If you read back , you'll see that you said that dogging could be at the top of the list fir catching std's . We said untrue in our case , and Sid why we think that might be .
So we have been swinging for six years , and have always been very active . From the first time we met someone we've been regularly checked and know all the nurses at the clinic very well .
We don't need to ask these people how an sti can be caught , we are fully aware of the risks involved . There are I'm sure plenty who don't , and they may well learn something from the scaremongering going on . If it means they get checked out it's worth it .
In the meantime we will carry on having our fun our way , and you yours |

It's crazy how many people think they aren't at risk.
Only doggers and bi men that catch sti's. Hmmmmm
It's the people that think that's true that are the dangerous ones. |

"
"Gonorrhoea is a particularly pernicious infection. Residing in the genitals, rectum and throat, it is caught not through just penetrative or oral sex but through touch, which means it can be transferred on fingers or sex toys. While saliva has enzymes that can kill it, it is contracted by fellatio due to the urethra coming into contact with the pharynx, where there’s a higher risk of bacterial exchange. This means cunnilingus can be enjoyed safely – prioritise women’s pleasure in the name of the public health."
Fingers... sex toys.... how many people use condoms on sex toys or wash their hands between partners in clubs.
How many people don't get tested because they have no symptoms. |

I posted the link as I found the article said it all better than I could.
People really need to declare that they swing when they go for tests.

Because they give you more tests if you do. And don't just fob you off with the DIY tests. |

Our potential exposure is greater. I haven't heard of many non-swingers indulging in bukake parties, multi-partner and club meets and sharing toys.
Many non-swingers have as much and more one night stands but they are doing that serially and not in a group situation.
If nothing else, they will give you more condoms.

Unless all of that is protected including oral both ways. Btw i rarely allow men to finger me as 99% of guys in clubs haven't a clue.. not because im worried about risk

I read this and it did not make sense to me, and having looked up pharynx it still does not. I may be wrong but the writer is assuming every woman who fellates is actually deep throating and therefore bypassing the saliva, which I suspect is rare. In which case fellatio without deep throating can be done safely. I am happy for it to be explained where I am wrong. Obviously safer with a condom. Obviously not detracting from the other points. |

No, the pharynx includes the throat at the back of the mouth. The point they are making is that whilst saliva is 'somewhat' protective, because two places where the infection lives come into direct contact during fellatio it is more dangerous, for both parties presumably. Also there is less saliva in the back of the throat than in the mouth anyway.
