When you see a convicted sex offenders on fabs....

Seeking some forumite advice please!

Background - a few years ago I had a couple of meets with a guy. We weren't really into the same stuff so fizzled out.

A year later, I see his face in the local press - he was convicted and sent to prison for sexual offences against children.

Well, fast forward a couple of years. He's obviously out of jail now as his face popped up on my newsfeed. It is 110% definitely him and he has been meeting.

Now my question is - should I be reporting this? Have asked friends and they are divided I'm opinion - some say that he has served his time and is free to be on sex sites. Others say they would be horrified if fab knew he was on this site knowing the crimes he committed.

I think I would want to feel that sex offenders shouldn't be on here if the fabswingers admin were aware of their offences, and I do worry about the women he may be meeting as they would be horrified if they knew.

I have blocked him but it is playing on my mind. Would be grateful for your advice, forumites!

I may well get flamed but there's a big difference between consenting adults versus paedophiles. Anyone who has served time will be on a register, and I would suspect part of that is they're not allowed to subscribe to this kind of site.

These are assumptions on my part, but personally I would be reporting.

As far as I know he does not have to disclose his sexual history to fab and unless he has any conditions on his release then there is nothing you can really do about it.

If you have any doubts then a call to the citizens advice service might be an idea they can give you the best advice.

I would report and possibly inbox him too. I know you've now blocked him but personally I want the right to know if I'm potentially at risk of meeting sex offenders.

In my eyes Nobody that is a convicted pedofile have served there time and I can't explain what I would do as I would prob get a ban.

Imagine finding out, after you have not mentioned anything, that he met someone from this site and got into a relationship and then went into abuse their children!! Or you can flag this up now and let the admin of Fab carry out any actions they see fit.

I feel anyone found guilty of this looses any right to be given the benefit of the doubt, even if after time served!!

Report his profile and let Admin take any action they feel necessary. That way your conscience is clear.

Totally agree with this..... what if the man in question has a regular meet that becomes more and through that person, they are able to get access to children and offend again?

I don't believe that these 'people' (animal) ever get rehabilitated. They will always seek to get their perverse 'kicks'.

You could report him to your local police force and provide his username for this site, they will have access to his terms of release and will be in a position to know if he is breaching those terms by being on here.
