Hi
There's been a lot of posts about bad manners and profiles not really understanding the swinging lifestyle.
Maybe it's time for Fab to start making an annual charge of say £30.00 - £50.00 per profile with no difference between single guys,women or couples. Plus keep the upgrade system and build it into this fee.
After a few years with no complaints a profile could have the annual fee waived.
This would immediately remove most of the time wasters and web warriors as theses people are have the potential to destroy Fab. Any members banned obviously lose their money. So re joining does cost them money.
Of course it won't eliminate it 100% but will reduce to by maybe 90%.
We are members of another fee paying site and you don't see any where near the level of complaints or abuse your seeeing on Fab.
Would people be willing to pay a small fee to get a better site ?

Wouldn't work and I don't agree with paying I pay small amount and find that expensive enough as swinging should be free just point out the arseholes or report them but don't think anything would ever stop them x |

No I pay for silver supporter anyway. No way could I afford £30-£50. Is swinging just for the rich then?
As for bad manners, define yourself. It's casual sex not a job interview. Nobody is entitled to a guaranteed reply, everyone has the right to block people they don't want to meet ect ect. If you find people rude then just block and move on.
As for the swinging lifestyle people may use the site how the wish, in accordance with site rules. Just because you're idea of swinging is one thing that doesn't mean another person's idea of it is wrong.
We are not all here to "swing" we are here to have meets, chat, make friends, cam, whatever suits the particular member.
If you aren't happy with how the site is run then go find yourself a paying site you are happy with.

As it's already been stated it wouldn't change anything. There are many messers who would pay the money anyway... what £30/50 for a years subscription of fun messing others about?
What would actually happen is most genuine single guys would leave...I know I would.
I think most genuine ones have got the regular contacts needed to continue swinging in the same circle of friends and you'd end up with more issues at socials/m&gs/parties with less control over who attends. |

As a concept it sounds fine but you'll never stop bad manners. As for people understanding the lifestyle? It's an open site and people make of it what they choose?
Only in clubs or socials will you really see people get an appreciation of that. |

The ability to pay fees does not prevent some people behaving like idiots...
And others who for whatever reason may not be able to pay...
Why should they be excluded because of the regular rants a out no shows timewasters etc.
May help if all on here treated each other with respect courtesy and integrity...

Point taken, but if there were more hoops to join, then it will at least sift out some eg do people with no photo verification have same access as those who are? |

I agree that there is room for improvement, but I don't think charging more is the way to go.
Unverified people don't have the same level of access. Use your message filters, block new and unverified members. You may get less messages, but you can't have your cake and eat it. |

What she says is true. It'll make no difference other than loose alot of very good genuine swingers from here the moment they suggestthat they will charge. |

The point you make may have some mileage. If photo verified then you have full access aside people's filters, those who are can choose to engage with those who aren't. That could help reduce but not eliminate time wasters etc and help others who are established. |

So you are saying exclusivity stops idiots. Interesting as I find the richer a person’s tend to be those idiots with too much time on their hands and not much going off between the ears, so to speak. I swing on the IOM and unlike the UK; the majority of swingers cannot afford subscriptions services as 99.9% of the people are not supper rich here as people think. The super-rich only stash their dosh here and do not live here, as it is too cold and wet. Swingers here would just leave and go to another free site or set up their own. It’s not rocket science, in this day and age, to do so.
To filter out idiots, timewasters, and fakes is the reason the report button is there and Admin I have found mostly deal quite swiftly with the time-wasters. Some are just religious freaks that hate others having fun in our country but they are easy to identify and get rid of. As previously stated it is just common sense and would be easy for none phot-verified profiles to be unable to send messages until verification, the easiest solution.

Hi
I was just putting the thought out there because recently there have been a lot of posts on the Forum regarding couples, single women and guys getting lots of abusive emails.
Yes there's rich wankers and poor ones too. Just from our experience we have not seen so many complaints on the sites that charge a fee.
Personally we have have met great people through Fabs, clubs and other sites. We have also had very little hassle compared to what others appear to have had. Also happy to navigate through all the Fab routes to happiness.
As I said at the bottom of my post. Thoughts on the subject.

Ifnyoure a site supporter who pays a fiver every 60 days (silver) then you're already contributing £30 a year so I don't think that's particularly outputting for many.
But I will say that a fee wouldn't put off the timewasters. If most are fantasists like we believe them to be then £30 is still considerably cheaper than certain porn site memberships. So I don't think it would be a particular deterrent

In my opinion if you start putting a price on for the site then all off a sudden it becomes about how much money the site generates not about what the site actually is.
A few other paid for sites are no where near as close to working as well as Fab form our experience. There you have to pay for this that the other and upgrade to access other stuff.
Here you have access to all you could need and most of the people on here are genuine about the lifestyle and what they want to get from it. You have access to all these resources as well as Al these fabulous people. Compared to most paying sites this site wins hands down as it is the community that makes the site.
No matter how much you charge for it you are always going to get time wasters, cheating husband's or wives who live more for the idea fantasy rather than the actual meet. Also no matter how much you charge you will always get teenage mainly boys trying to fuck about with people and collect pictures of what they hope to be their next door neighbour.

I know we have a choice and we choose to be on here and it is working for us. Both sites have worked for us.
I have not run down FAB. I just asked for peoples thought on paying a fee.
As I said before there have been numerous posts over the past few weeks complaining about bad behavior. My question was would a fee change this and would people be willing to pay for it.
I have not attacked anyone of been offensive merely asked for peoples thoughts.
I didn't expect the 'if you don't like it leave' approach posts.

I don't think this site is as broken as some people make out, lots of people seem to make it work for them. Yes there are a lot of timewasters, but that's part of life I'm afraid. It's an Internet thing. |

I never said I was unhappy with the site or the way it was run. Neither did I express a preference for pay or free. Nor did I say one was better than the other.
How you meant it and how I perceived it seem to be different.
I asked what others thought of charging a fee.
There have been a lot of posts complaining about fake profiles bad manners etc etc. Hence my question.
I was hoping for a more pro vs cons replies. . Not the ' you can remove yourself if not happy' type.
In fairness you were not the only one.

Well technically this is already built in!
Fab has two options for site supporters, silver and gold we pay using a text every 60 odd days £5 it's totally anonymous and easy,
Once your a supporter you have more options and you can also select on the account settings only site supporters can contact you, with that ticked and paying £5 every 2 months you get exactly what you want and for £35  |

A way to give it back to the swingers is a good shout.
Set the expectation up front also. This site is not an instashag, and it is not Tinder where all you single fellas will get way more action and telephone numbers.
I stick around as it's free and forum advice applies in general to other sites, but Bumble and Tinder is where I get all my action. I'll return here as a couple looking for FFM |

I think it works well without a charge.
We can all learn to refine our skills, of selection etc. Lower quality users will self select out over time - missing verifications or just generally doing so badly that they give up.
It's good to have increased choice here as well as potentially having more practice of phoning your skills to pick better matches. We will all make some mistakes - but it's from mistakes that we often learn the most.
More users here potentially brings in more revenue for fab, helping to improve services too. And a very popular and busy site probably keeps us all as more frequently active users - a virtuous circle. |
