I think that unless you're one of the lucky few who are completely happy in their own skin that it's human nature to compare yourself to others.
You need to remember though that 'fit' and 'sexy' are highly subjective terms depending on individual preference and it's therefore just as feasible that someone could be looking enviably at *your* body, wishing it was theirs!

Thousands of years ago there might have been one person in the village who was pretty, within the context of washing every year and having almost no teeth. That's the only attractive person you would see.
Now with TV, advertising and the internet there appears to be gorgeous people everywhere so our brains have difficulty coping. Plus of course tooth whitening, self tanning, hair straighteners and access to good exercise is more common.
Don't worry about appearances, plenty of people are bastards under the skin  |

I don't wish I had the same body as someone else. I do know mine needs to carry less fat. I had a slim body up until I was 35, and don't feel any worse about how mine looks now. It's how it feels that I have the problem with. |

I have and have either thought "fairplay" or if they were toned used it as inspiration to get my ass in the gym ("if that hustler can do it then so can I")

I don't tend to look at others and think I wish I had their body as such, although I do look at others with admiration.
I've got the body I was given and realise it's within my own hands (to an extent) as to how it looks, and actually right now I'm mostly comfortable with it and probably feeling passably attractive for the first time in my life.
What I do "wish" is that some of the changes I've made in the last couple of years (that led to losing three and a half stone, and ultimately that feeling of passable attractiveness) I'd made a lot earlier in life. |

ive never had a toned body but i do try and keep it within limits - when i feel the excess appearing i am extra careful with food and im happy with that - i try to maintain for health reasons as well not just looks |

I think I wished I had been a little more bothered about my body when I was younger so, now I am alot smaller, my skin fit me properly, as much as anything. But then I realised, for many reasons, I am ok with it really and not everyone prefers that body type in a partner or lover. It used to throw me a bit that some of the men I was playing with had amazing bodies and they didn't particularly want the same... I got over it |

I do. I'm not gonna lie. A lot of the time it's because of something they are wearing that looks amazing and I just don't have the boobage for it. Yeah I'd love a perfectly flat tum and no wobbly bits, but, I do.... and it's ok. |

I don't go to the gym I occasionally go running and do some charity events like the manchester 10k/ half marathon but they're usually a last minute " I can do this and raise a little in the process" thought. It's never something I train for months for, I'm not perfectly comfortable with my body as I'm sure very few are but I'm a healthy weight and aesthetically I'd say I'm pretty average which is more than enough for me. I work full time and would much rather invest time in going socialising than going to a gym and getting ripped but that's a personal preference. The only thing I would like to be better is my skin as it is soft and ok for the most part my face however has many imperfections. |

I don't get jealous of others bodies, I do sometimes wish I was in better shape but if I wasn't comfortable with my body then I could do something about it myself anything I cant sort with exercise I learnt to live with a long time ago |

Im pretty insecure about my body. I get to the gym quite often but weekend food lets me down (and a torn cartilage in my right knee isnt helping...)
I like to think I'm an ok guy to hang out with and have a laugh with, so (hopefully) personality isnt an issue - therefore I suspect I'd get more meets with women if I were in better shape... |

Happy with mine and if others don't like it it matters little to me....I'd only be interested in those who are interested in my mind as well. The body soon fades very quickly but the mind can stay sharp. |

Not in the least.
Hubby wishes he could lose his growing pot belly but he enjoys his food too much to make a serious go of it. I am what I am and I'm ok with that.
Tbh though, we've met at clubs, some seriously buff couples and singles and neither of us wanted to pounce on them. He likes a nice size 12-14 and I like them chunky. Guys with too many muscles make me spend all my time thinking what's wrong with them wanting this chubby woman instead of enjoying what their giving me |

Not any more, I think I'm doing alright for a 50 year old with 3 kids.
Sure, there are things about my body that I don't like, especially the slack tummy skin from 3 pregnancies - no exercise is going to change that,but I don't look at anyone here and feel jealous - a healthy mind in a healthy body is my goal. |

There is difference between keeping toned and pumping muscle. Too much peer pressure going on these day. We should simply be happy who we are and get on with life no need to be jealous. |

I'm not body confident at all I never have been but iv got my body from having kids and they are well worth it. I'm in the process of losing weight so will get there eventually. Some people are just more lucky with their bodies than others. And it would be very boring if we all looked the same. Mrs nawty xx |

For me it's not so much in shape people, I do envy petite women, though. Small women with cute little feet etc. I'm 5'7'' and big built. Even if I get down to the bottom end of healthy weight I'll never be and never have been small and dainty. I wish I was. |

Seeing people with good shape bodies does make me want to go the gym to improve my fitness and bulk up but I need more motivation,

Not really. I'm 60 I know it would take hours in the gym to be toned and I try to be happy with me as I am in all respects while being realistic.
I do occasionally wish I had a washboard stomach though I won't lie and recently had a small strop about it. Not enough to take any action though |

I broadly agree but I'd put it another way. Finding your audience is relying on men for your self esteem. I would say know yourself and your worth and only go for men who appreciate that.
