Anyone know of a stockist with "tall" stockings? As stockings on me tend to only just make it over the knee and doesn't look anywhere near as good as they should? Thanks. |

Hello lovely lady.. We are fans of vintage nylons, and do find modern stockings very lacking in looks sizes & feel etc..if you go on eBay and search vintage nylons or stockings you will find some of the regular sellers like 'nylonz'. As the vintage stockings don't have the 'give' that modern stockings have..you will find there selling pages all have a size to fit perfectly based on your shoe size and height. Ok they aren't cheap and you have to be ultra carefull pulling them on and off (We get 'imperfects' as they sell for around a tenner a pair') the popular choices are cuban heels, point heels or manhattans in barely black or the harder to find copper tones..you can also get what they call RHT's they are without the rear seam and welt therefore cheaper to produce on the few machines left in the world that still produce them, I believe there is only one machine in the UK that is actively working still today! These vintage nylons look amazing on that is somehow lacking in cheap modern stockings..plus I'm sure your husband or any male onlooker would love you for wearing them! Love the kinks xx |

I also have a 36'' inside leg and I find primark stockings and hold ups fit very well as do Debenhams ones....
I think it also depends on how fat your thighs are as to how well hold ups stay up, mine are quite slim so I have no problem but going for the larger sizes might help |

"I'd love to know how to keep hold ups up - I end up looking like Nora batty"
I still wear suspenders with mine for the very same reason, plus with hold ups there is a tendency for them to slip down more as I can't always be smooth and so the tape at the top doesn't hold as well on unsmooth legs, I still buy hold ups if they are the style I want but can't get ordinary stockings in them at the shop I am buying from I.e a particular colour or style like fishnet, seamed, patterned etc I know they are not designed for wearing with suspenders but sometimes better safe than sorry!!!!! |

Being a short arse has its advantage's sometimes, I've only got a 30" inside leg so stockings come well up to the top of my thigh, but I agree stockings don't look right at all if they're only just above you knees, but I think if you can't find what your looking for on E bay then you'll be struggling anywhere else, good luck finding what you want |
