Five years ago I came out to my partner as bi sexual and transgender.
She has helped me open up to the world, rise above the mocking from people like you, and show the world the person I really am.
If I stand in the road and try to make all the cars turn the way I want I get beeped at and abused. If I present as a police officer most people comply with my instructions, apart from a few idiots who think they are impressing someone.
I present myself as female and most people respect that and treat me the way I hope them to.
It's not easy stepping out into the world looking like this. I set myself up, head above the parapet. I join a group (women) who have been discriminated against for generations. In addition to that I am actually part of a group who have a very high incidence of suicide too.
The ignorant in society see me as a cross dresser. Someone who 'gets off' on it and as such, they feel justified in ridiculing me.
I don't 'like' dressing in women's clothes. I do love clothes though and like the man who feels empowered when he wears a quality suit, I feel confident stepping out the way I am.
