See ... I used to wax, or epilate, regularly and I did get used to the pain or at least I used to think 'no pain, no gain' *but* increasingly I got ingrowing hairs which hurt and scarred. I even ended up having to take antibiotics for a particularly nasty ingrown hair that got infected - and got an embarrassing lecture about the perils/questionnable necessity of hair removal from my GP as a result. I think I've just got very sensitive skin because every cream I've ever tried brings me out in a rash and shaving often irritates too. So my mindset about all of this has changed a lot in recent months because I'm just not prepared to damage myself as much as I used to just because smoothness is 'expected' so often. I'm only going to remove hair when *I* want to now as regular removal clearly doesn't agree with me. |
