Worst excuse...and the best!

One guy we were trying to set up a meeting with cancelled on us about 5 times. The first excuse was that he had no car that week because it was being serviced, so we offered to pick him up somewhere discrete and he said that was unfair on us. The next meet he cancelled was because a lad where he worked had borrowed his car and smashed it. Again we offered to pick him up but he was having none of it. The third meet he cancelled because his "X" mrs had found his laptop open with all his contact details and he didn't want her causing problems as he wasn't sure what she had read if anything !!! Then the next meet he cancelled we actually guessed his excuse before he came out with it. He told us on a Thursday that he was moving house over the weekend and he ould be able to meet us on the Tuesday following. Yes. You've guessed it. So did we. His excuse was..... wait for it....... Oh dear, i've pulled my back out during the house move. The word that springs to mind rhyms with banker. |

Talking to a friend on here, she's been chit chatting with a bloke who works off shore on the rigs..
The first time he was home and were suppose to meet he made some excuse about his car I think she said, 2nd time it was something else then the 3rd time he said he;d made the previous excuses cos he was too embarrased about his 'man boobs'

We were traveling to a meet once, racing 100 mile down the M5 to meet this wellfit couple with plans to sleep over, just over halfway there the engine in our car seized
The car was totally Kaput, we phoned them before we even called the RAC but they didn't believe us and never spoke to us again. Took the RAC an hour to get to us, 2 hours to get us home, the car was off the road a month and cost us £1200, what an expensive excuse that was

lol. a few years ago when I worked as a recovery driver I was asked, by one cpl who I had recoverd, to ring some one and explaine that they had broken down and could not meet them, did not know about swinging then but wonderd why they looked sheepish |

Kitten would never have to make an excuse to us we have had loads best was single woman, been texting and msg us for weeks we arrange 1st meet at local down road...30min's before meet she texted cant come people at pub might know me.... as if would have licked her out at the bar.... tzzzz...have some manners.... h&d |

I cancelled a meet just this week because the lady said he had a coldsore. I'm glad she told me first, fair play to her, but explained I didn't want to chance catching it and maybe even passing it on. |

one guy told us that, his brother had stolen his sat nav and he could not find us, he lived 20 miles away. Another cancelled coz he said he was going fishing instead. Another said his mother had had a stroke. we can only pressume that as she touched it he shot his load and was spent lol. The best though has to be, the dog has died and we had him cremated, the familly are getting together to scatter the ashes. |

How about the couple no-showing and when we messaged them 3 days later the excuse was, sorry went to a BBQ, got pissed and forgot about our meeting.
At least the following week the same couple were more honest, 30 minutes before meeting receive a text saying sorry changed our minds, still a waste of a second weekend though. |

Had a guy a while ago cancel when he said his brand new car had gone up in smoke about 100 ft from his house when i said to him not a problem hubby will be right with you he is a mechanic and have it fixed in no time he said its ok ill wait til morning to have it fixed then we offered to pick him up and he said he should really wait with the car incase someone should break into it and steal it ?? ffs its gone up in smoke outside your house who is gonna want to steal it lol
Another guy said he couldnt make it as he had a prior meet arranged and couldnt make it with me but as i sat in the club where we were due to meet i saw him sitting alone and every so often looking over at me trying to catch my eye i walked right past him and said pity you couldnt meet with me tonight and flashed my bum as i left tried to contact me for days after until i found the block list thingy lol xxx |

We arranged to meet a guy, booked the hotel, spoke on the phone an hour before the 8pm meeting in the bar. Sat there and of course he did not show up.
Tried his number several times and no answer
In the morning hubby phoned him while withholding his number, the guy answered .... His excuse ..... "he had locked himself in his fridge" and had spent the whole night at minus 27 degrees, he got let out at 7am the following morning and although he was still up for the meeting he thought I might not like his cold hands so we had better leave it for a week or two " to make sure he has thawed out ok" |

It seems odd to me that people get as far as arranging a meeting and then cancel or don't bother to show. Obviously anyone can experience cold feet, but hopefully you'd be polite enough to just say that?
I've had one cancellation though, not from this site, where the person said their first choice had changed their mind and was able to come over so thanks perhaps next time! lol, I think not! |

my personal fave for a cancelled meet was a guy who i had arranged to meet one saturday evening, was about 3pm the afternoon of the meet and he called me up asking if we could put the meet off till the next night? when i asked if there was a problem he said......well not a problem as such its just ive had an offer from another woman but she can only do tonight so i was wondering if we could move our meet to tomorrow so i can meet her tonight!! lol
cummon you have to give him 10 out of 10 for honesty lol |

I had a meeting semi planned with a couple one of the weekends I was off, work shift and they werent in any rush. Everything was pretty loose as they were going to come to me and it was a case of when available. Then suddenly and very unexpectedly I had a string of hits on AFF and had definate dates to meet so obviously grabbed the sure things as they never happen normally. Contacted the couple explaining that the next few weekends off I had definate dates and was very sorry and at a loss to explain my sudden popularity, but since everything was fairly loose would my next phase of weekends be ok? Oddly enough they werent too impressed and made a comment about being a '2nd reserve'. Ok I know why and get it but my reason was genuine and we had no definate dates planned. Feast or famine with me and I'm starving right now lol |

Once had someone try it on in the chat room. No pics, no location/town, no verification, no cam, no friend's list, no description/write up. The only thing was claiming to be a 26 yr old female looking for guys.
"Here we go" I thought "Another person looking to pull my leg".
So "she" was giving it the "oh you look good, would love to meet up" pitch. (Said in whisper, didn't ask before whispering I might add).
"I'm sorry, but your profile is a little bare - how bout beef it up a little and get some pics - or if you have cam then I can see and we can go from there?" I responded.
"So you don't believe?" she asked. "You think I'm lying?, ok, don't worry - I just wanted to be friends and you brush me aside like this."
I responded "Sorry you feel that way, but your profile at the moment is very similar to so many who have been known to be time-wasters".
A few days later she came back, profile all filled out, pics AND a cam. Came back and whispered me "remember me? I took your advice but now am not interested anymore - I don't do Doubting Thomases".
Shame - she looked REALLY good too! And only lived some 20 mins from me! Gutted. |

I csncelled an invite to a party a week in advance as a last minute holiday had been booked and I hadn't had one in over 2 years. Sent the guy a message and no reply, when I tried to explain again on msn he just signed off. Annoying |

i did'nt no, but only because i was already busy the next night, i dont feel he did anything wrong he was honest and he asked, like they say if you dont ask you dont get, so basically he had the option of meeting me on the saturday or the other woman as neither of us could do the sunday and he chose her lol
i think my worse reason for cancelling a meet was because i had a spot come up, i know that sounds daft to a lot of people but it was a guy id never met before and i think first impressions last and i didnt want to be remembered as the women who turned up with a spot lol i think when you meet people you need to make an effort, if a guy turned up to meet me in his old track suit and trainers i'd be a bit put out that he didnt think our meet was worth making himself look nice for, so i just felt it wrong to turn up with a spot lol |

couples dont like to be turned down by single guys you know, they feel that cause theres so many of you you should be grateful of their attention and put yourself on hold till they want to meet you

I know should have put off any other chances of fun on the off chance they may possibly be free and happen to be in the area at some piont in the near future...maybe.
And your right there are loads of us single men on here but unlike many of the others, I actually meet.

"my personal fave for a cancelled meet was a guy who i had arranged to meet one saturday evening, was about 3pm the afternoon of the meet and he called me up asking if we could put the meet off till the next night? when i asked if there was a problem he said......well not a problem as such its just ive had an offer from another woman but she can only do tonight so i was wondering if we could move our meet to tomorrow so i can meet her tonight!! lol

i did'nt no, but only because i was already busy the next night, i dont feel he did anything wrong he was honest and he asked, like they say if you dont ask you dont get, so basically he had the option of meeting me on the saturday or the other woman as neither of us could do the sunday and he chose her lol
i think my worse reason for cancelling a meet was because i had a spot come up, i know that sounds daft to a lot of people but it was a guy id never met before and i think first impressions last and i didnt want to be remembered as the women who turned up with a spot lol i think when you meet people you need to make an effort, if a guy turned up to meet me in his old track suit and trainers i'd be a bit put out that he didnt think our meet was worth making himself look nice for, so i just felt it wrong to turn up with a spot lol"
Thanks for that... I really find it interesting.... See I think he should have said to the first woman ' Awwww that's unfortunate i've made other arrangments now.' That to me is what is right ... he should't have said 'tough tits' to you.
I dont mean anyone is to blame but it should have been the first womans loss without any ill feeling.
As for the spot! How big was it ? C'mon ... I gotta know ! |

Best reason i've had was in the 'still online and planning phase' so wasn't exactly a cancellation.
After chatting and agreeing we'd like to meet up. He says...... that would be great! Can you wait till i've passed my driving test ? Good job I love life ... I couldn't stop laughin.

how far away was the poor boy ? i dnt have a driving licsence been a bit of a twat in my younger days and havent really summoned up the courage to go back in a car for any real legnth of time , but stil if i had a meet id find a way no problem lol |

A woman cancelled a pre-arrangement due to "monthlies" as "hadn't finished as expected" (fair enough, I thought) as she offered to arrange for another time.
You can imagine my surprise when I saw her in the chatroom an hour later (messing up her whispers) arranging to meet another guy for the same day we previously arranged to meet.
I guess she "sought a better offer". |

I had to cancel a meet once because my mum had fallen and needed to go to hospital (genuinely, this really happened)...
it sounded so suspect though I seriously considered making up some other excuse that might be less bullshit sounding!
I did tell the truth though, I think it was all OK! |

We arranged a swing date from another site with a single guy, spoke to him on the phone and MSN and agreed to meet on a very rare Saturday night free.
Meeting time was 9pm - 9.50 got a text saying he'd fallen asleep and it was too late to meet by then, even though he claimed he was only 40 mins away.
We were very angry and had a go at him as his advert said "I am not a timewaster" in his profile!!
His reply was that he'd seem my face picture when we spoke on MSN around 6pm, decided he didn't fancy me but didn't want to hurt my feelings. |

said their daughter had broken her arm, then got back to say they were ok to come,then they still didn't show. At 04:00 in the morning, texted to say when they got down to us, they had forgotten to bring our number OR address, so they drove all the way home and went straight down the pub until the early hours, when they finally deigned to let us know they were alright. assholes

we just had a good 1 called us to say had a puncture but changed wheel then called to say wheel nut had came off then had the cheek to call us and say where were we ( we were at home waiting for them) |
