I've met a couple of men in the past that both wanted me to be exclusive with them, and got all petty when I said no, that I'm not girlfriend material, I'm a swinger.
Surely they should be on a dating site, not here. |

I know what I think it is, but there are lots on here (this site) that are not swinging. some don't meet at all.
Before this site, I always assumed swinging was only for couples. Little did I know?  |

Everyone's definition of swinging is different. However once thing it doesn't mean to me is being exclusive. That's a very 'normal' relationship. |

they don't want you to be exclusive for a relationship, they want to be able to access you any time they need to.
like you said, if they wanted an exclusive relationship they'd be looking for that. |

but on the flip side there are women who are looking for exclusivity..

As our journey goes along we change, and our needs/desires change too. I guess you can set out to swing then meet someone who blows your world wide apart and makes you rethink swinging. They maybe weren't looking for a relationship when they met you.
The other side is that you said they were petty about it. We makes me think they didn't truly understand either you or swinging as the majority/minority(?!) understand it.
Best off without either guys and be confident about what you want and stick to it |

Its ironic. I could only be happy with a woman who continues to take other lovers (of her choice) but most women hate to be told this. |

I avoid this problem by making it perfectly clear from the start that I only want sex. Even with guys I meet regularly. If I get a sniff they are looking for anything more then I won't be meeting them. I can normally tell during the chatting stage who's going to be weird so fortunately they get ed out early on. I don't have a problem with those that are looking for more on here. As long as they are up front about it so I can choose to avoid. |

The ones who want unprotected sex want you to be exclusive, so they can't catch something.
I tell them from the start, I don't do exclusive.
I had one man tell me I have too many regular partners and he doesn't want to be one of my harem. He expected me to bin all my long term relationships for a fuck with him once in a blue moon. |

I'm always honest and upfront from the start, and they are fine with it, then once they met me they decided they wanted me as a 'girlfriend' and didn't want me to meet anyone else. I ain't giving up swinging for no man  |

It doesn't necessarily make them a boyfriend, just 'enough'. 
But yes, hissy fits and attempts to demand something not freely given don't work. |
