The more I think about it, the more I wish I hadn't had those thoughts. Eating in restaurants with sweaty naked people, stood in queues with naked body parts pressed against you, your family naked in the same street...........no thank you.

Definitely not, there's more people I'd rather see with even more clothes on than naked!

Lol. Care to elaborate? Are they a specific type of people or is it a specific type of dress that needs more clothes?

People I'd rather not see naked at all-family members, very much older people etc

No it shouldn't. There are still too many people who think that if a woman is naked she wants sex.

Good observation.

But what about people who think certain kinds of dress means a woman wants sex? Should 'revealing' styles be illegal too maybe?

It is legal....it's only an offence if the intention is to offend.

No. The people who think that the way women dress is a personal invitation to them to make sexual advances should be though.

It isn't that simple.

Nudity is sexualised in our culture making it acceptable on a day to day basis would take a big change in attitude.

Dressing is the norm, whatever level of coverage and making revealing styles illegal would be a step on the road to total coverage.

So making it illegal to wear only a bikini or to go topless is a step toward total coverage? Since technically it is a style and is clothing. Just drawing out the finer points.. interesting.

"Should it be legal?

There is no law against public nudity in England

And there definitely no law against pubic nudity over here on Fuerteventura, in fact we welcome it.

No specific law but indecent exposure law covers the exposing of one's genitals with the intent (or recklessness)to shock or offend. So being naked in a public place where likely to be seen by non consenting persons is unlawful.

I think it unfair that ladies can't really go topless in the summer like guys just because for hundreds of years they haven't been , but nakedness no thanks

Not because its a style no. Because it reveals more flesh than a three piece suit or a nun's habit for instance. If this year we say men can't wear shorts maybe next we will say they can't wear sleeveless shirts. I understand where you're going, you could apply the same argument in reverse if revealing clothes are acceptable according to my argument nudity should be too.

My opinion is that a cultural change in attitudes towards nudity is needed before it could become generally acceptable. Many people only want to see certain bodies naked and that to me suggests its still strongly sexualised or at least only acceptable if the body in question is pleasing.

I'd love it to be an end goal that people could spend their time naked in public.

But before we get to that point we need to come a long way as a society about how we behave when around naked people.

I'm a naturist, and I'm naked as often as I can be (heading to the beach later today), but clothes are important on occasion!!!

I think ther should be more naturist venues around but naked in public???? A packed tube in the summer with sweaty ass all over the seats sounds awful. Do think ladies should be able to go topless like men tho
