We're both trying to slim down a bit as we feel really conscious when naked with others and deep down we're not happy with our ever expanding waistlines.

I know I feel so much happier inside and I'm not so judgemental of other people when I feel ok about myself.

One of the joys of getting older xx

They didn't mention anything about other people, just how they felt about being overweight themselves.

I've lost 4 stone and changed dress size from a 22 to a 14...my confidence hasn't changed in the slightest however I understand the pressures some ladies and gemts feel on here...i have always felt that there is someone who will find you attractive so no one should worry...jusy go about being yourself with natural confidence and what will be will be...huge hi to people of all sizes...

We're the same op, and can definitely relate! Both on diets as we speak, well, I should say "back on the diets" after the usual weekend binge!! The problem we have is "weekend weakness!". We lose on average of at least 4-5 pounds during the week, but put about 6-8 back on over the weekend!! Madness!

It seems from my experience of swing clubs, that the majority of swingers carry a few extra pounds exactly the same as the majority of the uk do.

Not really. Sounds as though you are losing water weight, rather than fat weight. Hence why you fluctuate so dramatically.

Are you dropping carbs by any chance? Drastically cutting carbs reduces water, as carbs hold on to water. Again, hence the fluctuations.

Lean meats and leafy greens are usually the way to go. Up protein intake regardless of whatever diet you go on. Protein enhances satiety and increases something called thermogenesis. Basically your body will burn calories while processing the carbs.

When it comes to exercise weight training and HIIT are the way to go, along with a calorie controlled diet and readjustment of your macro nutrient ratio's. Basically drop calories, reduce carbs, increase protein and fat ratio's and drink plenty of water. eat a small amount of carbs only pre and post exercise only ( along with some protein) and follow an intermittent fasting strategy.

LOL! I'll stop there as this is not a fitness or nutritional site. I do get carried away sometimes.

But stick to these rules and you should see a drop in body fat.

Oh, and use an online calorie intake requirement calculator to estimate your daily calorie requirements for weight loss.

That's about it, except don't do hours of cardio, it makes you hungry and reduces lean muscle mass.

One of the things I love about fab is that a great majority of the ladies in couples are quite curvy. I love women who are around a 16-18 dress size and so did everbody else till the mainstream media started bombarding us with images of slimmer and slimmer women from the 90s onwards.

Guys you look fantastic. I haven't read all posts so forgive me if I'm repeating. I think the problem stems from what society has decided to call "normal." Society being the media and Hollywood. The beauty of us humans is the natural variation so embrace what you have. And curves are hot! I'd sooner curves than a skeleton. No offence to the really skinny ladies there - you guys are gorgeous too!

You will find lots of curvy or bbw type ladies on the scene that it can seem that the leggy slim catwalk model types are in the minority.

As for men though, I think that a lot of people are looking for the tall six packed adonis to fulfil their fantasy rather than the plump bald bloke with the darts player physique. Although a good positive attitude and personality will go a long way to unlocking the doors to swinging success.

It's worth remembering that attraction comes in many forms and beauty is only skin deep. Some of the most pretty and visually pleasing people can very quickly become repulsive once you talk to them.

You're a cynic . In all seriousness I know what they're saying. I've alway's been slim, but in the last year or so I've really put on weight around my tummy, which is not normal for me. I wouldn't mind so much if it gave me bigger boob's but it doesn't it just settles around my waist. Over a year ago I was a size 8,now I'm more like a size 12 in jeans, but my boob's are still the same.

It make's me feel uncomfortable and bloated and it certainly doesn't make me want to get undressed for a man!

Darlington and beyond

TBH everyone on here looks great, it's true what someone mentioned earlier about being happy in your own skin and I agree that no matter what someone's size or shape, it's how you carry it off that makes you hot.

Losing weight can be difficult, I've lost 16lb in 10 weeks, mainly down to food portion size and cutting down on alcohol. On top of that I've been doing various 30 day exercise apps, you do them in the comfort of your own home and no weights or equipment are required, perfect for those who don't fancy subscribing to a gym membership that probably won't be utilised.

Good luck..

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

If I lose weight it won't be because of this site. I lost a lot a couple of years ago and it made no difference to my meet success whatsoever. I'm not saying most men are pre-disposed towards the larger lady, but most men don't seem to care about what a woman looks like compared to what we think we look like. As long as you are comfortable and can still get your legs up its probably all fine.

To be fair , I can't see the point in most of the threads posted on here .

This thread doesn't come across as overly attention seeking , lots of us see this time of the year as an ideal time to get fit and healthy .

I don't see it as that, but I suppose it wouldn't bother me even if they were. I know people who have great figures, but are vocally unhappy about certain parts... They're just starting a thread about something they're currently doing.

I know exactly how you feel op. I am far bigger than I feel comfortable with and will only meet certain people at the moment because of it. Until I am at a size I feel happy and comfortable with I just don't feel confident enough to meet new people. ..not because of what I think they'll say or what they might think but because of how I feel about me.

Thank you, yes that's exactly how we feel, there's so many couples we'd love to play with but we would feel fat and rubbish in front of them. So we've decided to use this site as an incentive to lose a few of the wobbly bits xx

OP, I really cannot understand the negative comments on this thread. It is your body and it is up to you if you wish to get fitter or fatter. You have chosen to get fitter and all the best in achieving your goal; x

We all have sonething we don't like about ourselves...that's why certain people will only meet certain types of people because we are very conscious of what others will think about us..hence why all of us try to take complimentary pictures and not just upload the first one we take lol. It's very f@#ked up that a lady can start a thread like this and get advice/positive comments but if a single guy did he'd be slated as fishing for compliments etc..I've seen the posts and I just cringe at the site of some of the comments.

OP it sounds as though what you are both doing is making you happy,so carry on. When you are happy the world does seem a better place.

I am currently loosing weight and going to the gym. I feel great as well, so know how you feel

The point is that to them they feel overweight and so feel uncomfortable getting naked in front of other people. It is not about whether or not you think they are.

I wouldn't day they were overweight myself but if they are used to being a certain weight /size it can knock your confidence being even a few lbs over.

Every time anyone posts on here they are hoping someone will look at them.... Even you so stating its a look at me thread is what is really pointless, not the OP.

I think you look amazing from your pictures. I feel very sexy in clothes and underwear but very self-conscious being naked. I have a fat wrinkly belly after 4 children. But I know it's my insecurities and others would probably not even notice..

You wrote the second paragraph accusing the op of purely looking for compliments and being a look at me thread and agreeing with someone else saying they were fishing for compliments.

Of course you want people to look at you, maybe subconsciously but it's what we are all here for otherwise you would have no pictures up. Every interaction we ever make invites people to look at us and notice us.

I've lost just shy of 3.5 stone since last June. More importantly my body shape has changed significantly with my waist dropping almost 5 inches. I've still got a bit to go weight wise. However I think that will.be very gradual as the muscle continues to build.

I do a version of 5:2, but because I'm in the gym 4-5 times a week I am careful not to overdo the diet. Basically I eat far less carbs and more protein and vegetables with a very simple whole body routine involving compound movements, weights and some cardio to build my aerobic stamina. It has also enabled to reduce my anti-hypertension medication dramatically.

I still enjoy a more relaxed approach at the weekends but don't over indulge and workout at least once
