Just seen a profile, which was rather appealing, but then he had his mobile number on display on his profile. This spells out desperation to me.
What are your thoughts? |

I think that would be the general perception. And probably a strange one..
I don't put a mobile number in anything but a private message. I think that actually talking as opposed to messaging on this or any other means is easily the best way to get to know someone.
Many profiles say things like 'find out if we have a connection' but refuse to actually talk.
I think a chat on the phone is essential, within seconds you know from the way people speak whether they are the person in the profile. Given the number of posts about fakes and time wasters, I'd think think this and the chance to gauge someone's intentions and personality would be welcomed..
What are we worried about? Well, I suppose that nobody wants random phone calls at inconvenient times, but that doesn't stop the PPI guys! With this, at least you know who it is and can can answer/block as necessary |

Aww look I reckon putting phone numbers, sending numbers straight away is just desperate, the time for swapping or getting a number just naturally comes, there's no big rush to swap a number or to give a number any way as this whole site is for the porpoise of being able to contact in the first place lol so why be desperate and send or post your private numbe   |

It will be their second phone number for places like this and dating sites.
Most people I know have either 2 phones or two different sim cards with different numbers.
One for personal real life.
And one for play. |

probably a payg phone he has just for here. why not find out if you like the profile instead of dismissing it out of hand?
After all isn't any meet or potential meet a gamble for either one of you? |

We have a second phone for using on here (dont have it on our profile though), and only a select few have the number. Far better idea than giving your "real" number out until you really get to know someone x |

Wouldn't dream of giving my number out on here unless it was to someone I was going to be meeting - the thought of potentially random phone calls at all hours just doesn't fill me with joy.
Have seen numbers on statuses and profiles though and my first thoughts are either desperation or wondering if the number is genuine or that of someone the owner knows that they have put there for some sort of sick revenge act/joke. |
