Using fab at work

I've just noticed that during breaks and occasionally even just sat at my desk when I know no-one is looking, I often jump onto fab on my phone. (I work in IT, and I know enough not to use a work computer haha).
Does anyone else find themselves getting a bit risky at work on fab, and does anyone check "who's nearby" and try to match up pictures with their potential owners in the canteen? Ok that may just be me. 
Or even better, has anyone been caught on fab at work? |

Theoretically yes but most companies won't bother unless you try visiting something they've deemed inappropriate (which maybe fab or similar). Tbh, just avoid using the work WiFi. |

Yes. Yes we can, if we bother to look.
Chances are you're fine, but on most networks we can audit the sites visited. It's unlikely to lead anywhere unless you do it on the main work network though, like on a work computer. We can literally watch what you're doing on those. |

I am alone in my office now on lunch break....but definitely using my phone.
I don't use Fab to see if any of my colleagues are on...I simply don't mix business and pleasure. Plus I keep this side of my life private due to the nature of my work.
But yeah...I fab at work if I am confident it is safe. |

It depends on where you work; if it's a financial institution or school for example, they're obviously quick to lock their systems down. If it's just a coffee shop that has free wifi then chances are it's not got an admin system to monitor anything at all.
For larger organisations they absolutely can see what sites you visit through their wifi. If you use sites that are blacklisted, deemed a security risk or inappropriate (e.g. tagged as adult) they can either be blocked or can be flagged up in the IT admin system.
Exactly the same applies if you are working from home and logged into a work VPN.
They basically see only the URL so they won't be able to access your Fab account or see your photos. |

I'm self-employed, working by myself all day, so tend to log in fairly early, and leave the tab open all day. I've almost been caught out by clients when I've left the screen open, but that kind of excites me lol  |

I used to be in and out of Fab at work but only on my phone but still got caught out. One morning there was a crashing noise outside the office so I jumped up and went out to see what the problem was, when I came back a 26 year old young lady on the staff was by my desk with a smirk on her face. I was ready for the worse, at lunchtime she said I've been trying not to say something but I have to ask.What is the website you were looking at. The outcome was that if you look at my profile this curvy young lady is in a few of the pictures.  |

I'm a sales rep and travel around a lot and always check who's near, still haven't recognised anyone yet but keep looking just in case a receptionist are customer could be on fab |

They can and most big companies keep a history, so if they find out, they can trawl back and see how much company time and resources you have been using.
We keep all our fab activities on personal phones and IT, it's just easier that way. |

I was in an office with a number of people for over a year and when I discovered fab I checked out the local people and was amazed to find out that a woman I knew well in the office was on fab too with her husband. I was hooked when I first saw a pic of her sat on another woman's face and her husband liked to dress as a schoolgirl. I really regret not having the balls to say something though! |

I do it everyday it has become part of my work n i have noticed i log into fab more compared to other social medias i use, is that good or bad is like a pattern as well,once i log in i check messages n then pix n then forums. |

no phones allowed at work - no signal barely in the building anyway - sometimes i have my break in my car and pop on - doing 12 hours shifts though is a long time offline |

I don't think you can, but you can use a process of elimination. Who's within a quarter mile? Do any of them look like people you know from work? Are there by tell tale signs, like tattoos and distinctive clothing? It's like a fun game. |

All the time lol, just came home to pick up my phone so I can check and message throughout the day. Never thought to check the who's nearby whilst at work, could be fun |
