I know we like to pretend we are a little different online than we are in our real life!! But i've heard of people claiming to be nearly 20 years younger than they actually are! I met with a lady off another site once, Who said she was 40 but clearly alot older when we met up! It didnt bother me but it did make me chuckle. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?? |

Yes at a couple of parties we hosted people were clearly telling porkers about their age( that and the fact their pics on here were at least 20 years old!) |

I've had people knock of a few year's,it's just stupid and annoying. When you expect to meet people looking a certain way and they're not it turns me off. I'd have still gone for them if they had uptodate photos and their real age up,but lies just naff me off. |

Not quite the same but I look old for my age and on another site I used to declare my age as 12 years older than I really am.
I had a few meets and no one questioned it |

Why do people want to put themselves in a situation that could provoke negative reactions. Whether that's age or weight or just blatantly not them.
I'd sooner people be pleasantly surprised when they meet me. |

"Why lie about your age you are what you are, if people don't want to meet because of your age so be it "
I've also had men I have subsequently met lie to me about their height, saying they are over 6ft but upon meeting, they clearly aren't ...
I think that if they say it too often then they just end up believing it.. |

Ill admit in my youth i used to add 5 years to my age as I was a young mum and hated having judgements made.. I didn't look my age so no one ever questioned it.
But then as I got older i had to kinda admit it. X but when your 40something with a 20 odd year old no one seems to judge.. but as a 16 year old with a baby people did |

I don't get why people lie about it. The odd year or two, cool. The exact date of birth? Also cool. Lying in order to get around age preferences generally gets my eyes rolling - it's a filter on the site for a reason. It's like someone claiming to be 6ft 2 and actually being 5ft 8.
One man I'd been speaking to for some time revealed he was ten years older than he said but kept his age lower so he could meet women in the age range he wanted to - that's twuntish and mildly irritating.

I don't understand people who lie about their age either - or anything relating to their appearance, e.g. by posting inaccurate photos. Like others have said, it's just extremely off putting to find they've not been honest.
There's a couple profile I've seen on here where they readily admit in their details that the photo of Mrs is more than 20 years old but 'she still looks just as good now' (or words to that effect). So, if that's the case, why not post a current picture ? Makes you wonder what they're trying to hide and they're clearly trying to draw people in with a false impression.
No matter what age we are - or profess to be - we are either going to be found attractive in the eyes of the person looking at us or we are not. Lying about your age doesn't alter that so why do it ? |

Unfortunately, yes.
I'm guessing the photos she used, were a good few years earlier, at best guess, I'd say 10+
Her bum was wider than Tasmania & she was wearing an outfit that resembled a Battenberg cake.
I also did the discreet text to a mate to rescue me. She simply laughed her head off and said no. |

I know one guy in particular who does just this, and regularly creates new profiles to stay under the 45 age barrier, but also to hide how many women he's met. The thing is, it works for him |

I was invited to a woman's house for coffee a couple of years back. She led me to believe she was 51, and had photos to back this up. Genuinely, when she opened the door to me, I almost asked if her daughter was home. I found out later she was 65 |

We don't lie about our age but I suppose we are still very young so can't see why we would.
I would never lie about it though, I always worry that meets will think I'm not as good as my pics in reality! We all like a good angle and such so I am always nervous.
I have only heard the opposite though so that's good.
We just don't see the point as we would leave if somebody had clearly lied to us about their age or looks. Heights not to important to me as long as they are at least the same size as me ha ha.

We know a couple who have both of their ages set at 42 each which is really strange as when out shopping one day I bumped into her daughter who was out with friends of hers as it was her big 40 birthday party that day, now I realise people may be having kids younger these days but that's pushing the limits .
Next time I saw them at a club I said that I had met up with her daughter on her 40th a couple of weeks earlier funnily she made out she hadn't heard me properly and walked off yapping to someone else. |

only once, went for a social with a 45yr old bloke, who I didn't recognise when I got there, he was closer to 60, 4-5inches shorter than his profile said, his hair had vanished since the pics he was using were taken, and he'd gained about 4stone. I asked him why he'd lied, he said he didn't think I'd talk to him if he was honest, but that now I was there I might aswell have a coffee. Told him no thanks, trust is essential and he already broke it, I don't appreciate being conned. |

My profile is as it says on the tin, no need to lie about any of it as you just get found out.
Once met a guy claiming to be early 30's, athletic and 6 foot 2. Unfortunately, in real life he was early 40s, had a beer belly and was smaller in height than me. needless to say, I left quickly and never responded to any further messages from him |

After months of trying to sort out a meet with a couple I knew we were able to sort out a hotel meet.
So after the fun had ended, the wife told me she knocked a few years off her age on fab as she thought it would be easier to get meets and period wouldn't meet a woman her age.
Didn't bother me at all but I was surprised that she would do that.
She looked very good for her age so they're wasn't any need in my opinion. |

Nobody ever believes our ages. We are told on a weekly basis that we look younger than we are.
It must be something to do with getting into swinging, because I (Mr) always use to look older than I am, but since swinging I seem to have gone a bit the other way. I get told 38 a lot, either something is working or people are just trying to be nice......
Mrs on the other hand has always looked younger, by about 10 years or more. Bitch! |

Seems most on this thread display there real ages and up to date pictures, we would say from experience this is rather different from non forumites, where it's a regular occursnce that people admit to been older!
We display our real ages which of course puts us out of the bracket of a lot of people, funny thing is the look on people's faces if we meet at at club and Wifey says her age, she doesn't genuinely look younger than her age, her mum didn't either, so I guess some go home and say to each other "oh dear we just played with some oldies" who cares eh? |

I have reduced my age on here by 1 year and also on other social media as identity theft and subsequent financial fraud is extremely difficult if the crims don't have your date of birth. |

I'd say very few men have age restrictions where as it's quite a big thing for women for various reasons. And when you take into consideration the ration of men to women on here its even less of an issue for women.
__________________________
To add to the OP...
I think many justifiably do not put their real age or DOB up (or they shouldn't) as it's the Internet and everything is cross referenced now and certainly in the future will be accessed and used for many purposes. In 5 or 10 years time a future employer will have a full electronic profile of you before you even get an interview. It's already started. I see that as being careful not deliberately deceitful. .. different if you're knocking off or adding to get round filters.
I know many who have a different age for whatever reason and I've met a few too, but they'll always tell those they plan to meet beforehand. If the other person decides then against it then that's ok and accept that can happen.

I know some of the men I have met have pretended to be younger on their profile. I still fucked them and even understand their various reasons for doing so. If I was to rejoin fab I definitely wouldn't use my actual birthdate again but I don't think I would shave years off, just change the month. I'd rather be told I look good for 40 than be a disappointing 30 something. |

We once had a meet where the couple were clearly 10 years older than their profile pics, out of order to be honest....we are the age it says we are but we are constantly told we look a lot younger!our pics are within the last 12 months...normally from the last time we were on holiday.
Think some of the problem is lots of people set their age preference upto 50...well you get a lot of horny good looking people over 50!.....its the new 40! lol |

My age is out by a week so I didn't put my actual DOB in. I think most I've met in my life have been very close to the age they've told me...as for the height thing I've met many a 5'11" man who is actually 5'7".
Worst one I ever had though was a man who had gained probably in the region of 10 stone since his photograph. Needless to say I made a hasty retreat.
I once met up with a 5'10 guy who was shorter than me....... "
Don't understand lying about height, how would you get away with it...some people |

I claim to be 41 but I'm actually 41 and 350 odd days. I hope people can forgive me?
On a serious note, if people really set a hard limit at 40 then they may miss really good meets. I have limits on my profile but have ventured well outside them for the right person (upwards obviously). |

Have met a few who looked older than what they said they were one i can remember was supposed to be 55 but to me he looked 70, i think he knocked a few years off also he probably looked older than he actually was as some men i have seen who are 80 dont look all that old. I mean look at joan collins who is 80, she says its partly to do with her genes. |

We met a couple talked to them what seemed like forever... both older then us but not massively when the finally turned up both were clearly 20+ years older ( my mother's age) she was stunning in her pics but totally different in the flesh ... we made a quick get away... our ages are correct we expect some people may remove a couple of years but you can't wipe out 20+ years and expect no one to notice |

I'll think you'll find we've knocked more than 20yrs off our real ages. I'm 64, he's 73, we lost our teeth just before the Crimean War, we both wear wigs and my tits hang by my ankles ....
It isn't easy being old you know |

If someone turned up and wasn't who they was when we met online then we wouldn't think twice about telling them where to go. As mentioned appearance would of changed if pics were 1-2 years old but of course you'd ask to see a recent pic before an actual meet. With Scarlett putting a different age so she can match the criteria of guys that's understanding as she clearly states being older in bio. Unfortunately not a lot of people read that. |
