My friend worked in either Stringfellows or Spearmint Rhino once as a drinks girl wearing denim hot pants and a denim waistcoat type thing and got £400, most of which was tips. This was about 10 years ago |

Lap dancers get a freaking fortune!
I understand that usually they pay a fee to the club £50-£100 perhaps to work there and then what they earn is theirs. I've seen mates spend hundreds.
Plus it's all cash so I imagine the good people at HMRC don't hear about it  |

They work little hours I.e Friday and Saturday night mostly. So I doubt they earn about £50 a Week lol. These people do it because it's usually good money. The general Base wage may be low, I.e £50 night but they'll generally get a lot of tips. |

I believe most official proper bars or clubs actually pay you properly these days. Tips, may be undeclared but I know they have to pay properly. |

My ex was a lap dancer. Her record night earned her over £2000. Her average week was nearer £1000.
That however depended on a lot of factors. Some nights she didn't cover her fee to the club let alone the taxi home.
Some of the other girls got offered modelling jobs or escorting on the back of dancing and depending on their limits could earn some very substantial sums indeed.
One careful girl I knew bought her house for cash. Nearly £250,000!!
Some of the spin off offers she accepted were well into the taboo territory. She did anything offered and retired after 5 years and is now a happy mum and business owner. |

"official proper"? what do you mean by this? At 99% of strip clubs in the uk, dancers are self-employed, as stated above, pay a fee/rent to work there each night, and/or a commission on their earnings. They don't ever get paid by the club. |
