Depends on the prescription. I wear glasses and have a +6.75 lens in mine. The distortion can be distracting.

Another vote for glasses here. I'm a huge fan of the librarian look.

I (Mr.E) tend to wear my contacts more than my glasses though. I find they can get in the way during antics and I can't see without them.
