Why do people moan on about situations in life yet won't do anything to change it?

If something isn't right, act upon it instead of being negative.

I agree but fear and lack of confidence stops most from doing something about there predicament so they just settle for moaning about it instead.

Because some prefer to be in the victim situation, that's their preferred position.

Agree to an extent but changing a situation isn't always that easy

No one ever said it was easy.

Maybe moaning is their way of letting off steam to help them cope with their situation until they feel able to change it

Or maybe asking for advice in the forum is their way of dealing with it.

I take it OP you've never had to deal with something so terrible it stopped you in your tracks and frazzled your brain.

I believe there aren't many things that are impossible, except of course some illnesses etc

Of course op it depends on who is in your inner circle. If you have negative influences in your life regardless of how positive you think you are you can be brought down and end up being a negative person.

I'm the same but I don't look down on people who don't have my strength when faced with a crisis.

you have posted something similar before OP

but I don't know how you think they can change it if they don't have your sunny disposition and maybe don't have family or friends with whom to rely on to help them..

its not always as straightforward as just picking yourself up...

Sometimes you have to step outside your comfort zone and do what you think will please you, not just moan that you aren't getting what you want. Me, I'm trying something new tomorrow...wish me luck when I go to my first gay sauna for their Tgirl day (Greenhouse, Luton if anyone's interested) gulp!

Agree, they play the victim which leads them to a negative place.

Good luck though I'm sure you won't need it. Well done for taking the bull by the horns and going for what you want. This is the sort of positivity I'm talking about

Obviously nothing ever is straightforward. But the some people moan on about the same old situations, yet won't do anything about it.

Start thinking positive, take stock of life, write a list of what they'd like to change and start making steps to change it.

Start with tiny baby steps, only one tiny footstep a day if needs be, but sitting around being negative will never do anyone any good.

I think a lot of people believe happiness is something that comes to you if certain things happen. Instead, happiness is a muscle that needs regular exercise, regardless of what the world throws at you. It's a gift you give yourself

Surely, OP, you realise that every single person's situation is personal to them and therefore we can't really cast judgement. Some people get themselves so stuck in a rut, that they don't know the way out. Some have no support and find it difficult to gain the strength to change their situation. Some just like to have a little moan.

Mental illness has a huge influence on how people live their lives. Non of us can physically see it - you never know what people are dealing with inside
