"My friend caught the herpes virus from the man she is having an affair with. No such thing as totally safe sex."
It's called safer sex and oral sex comes into that category..
Incidentally quite a large portion of the sexually active population carry the herpes virus and don't even know.. |

Was this as a result of oral sex?? "
Yes it was. Him giving her oral. |

"Hi all wondering what the chances of catching a std from receiving oral off a women. Has anyone heard of this happening?"
Interesting question. I've never heard of it but if she had gonnorhea in her throat would it be possible to pick it up that way? |

According to the clinic. It is far easier for a woman to catch something than it is for a man in oral situations.
While not totally safe a man being given oral is less likely to be infected.
.
There are sites with all the risk factors given.
For the woman the risk increases if she takes cum in her mouth. |

"Only safe sex is condom for full sex and oral or no sex at all . "
Sex with a condom isn't safe sex either - as the pregnancy rate with condoms demonstrate- it's just less risky than not using one
The only safe sex is no sex - we're all taking a calculated risk being here - some choose to take a greater risk than others, some like to pretend they're not taking any risk to help them rationalise it but we all are |

This information covers the main infections which can be passed on through oral sex. The most commonly passed on are:
Herpes simplex
gonorrhoea
syphilis.
Infections less frequently passed on include:
chlamydia
HIV
hepatitis A
hepatitis B
hepatitis C
genital warts
pubic lice.
The exact risk of getting or passing on each of these infections through oral sex is not known.
It is not known how many people have been infected with HIV through oral sex, but it does happen. The risk is much less than with vaginal or anal sex. |

Condom needs to be used at all times plus other method of birth control.condom needs to be fitted correctly and if it comes off during sex ,need to get checked .

That is why it is recommended that you use mouth wash before and after oral sex.
Brushing teeth can bleeding gums, obviously this is an open wound and leaves you more susceptible to infection...
Saliva does have a certain amount of anti bacterial properties which will help with some but not all infections... |

Very sensible advice. I love cock sucking and swallowing cum yet have never had an oral infection. Always use Corsodyl mouthwash before and after a meet. |

What I don't understand is why the HPV vaccine isn't available on the NHS to everyone...
I heard you have to pay something like £450 to be vaccinated.
I also heard that the HPV vaccine has only just been introduced and offered/compulsory/free for teenage girls at school for.
However, if boys or any adults want the vaccine, they have to pay for it...
The NHS system is a bit messed up by only doing half the job, instead of vaccinating everyone....... |

"Condom for oral ruins it for all parties involved. You can't catch anything particularly bad from oral except if someone has a coldsores and goes down on you then they can give you proper herpes"
You can catch by oral if very active .risk is small for those not too active but increases with more oral sex you have with different partners .Only safe is with condom or no sex . |

It does only take one but we make our own risk assessments. Some will have everything unprotected.. Some only oral.. Some every thing..
At one point it wasn't unheard of for me to do multiple gangbangs a week... always without for oral.. and I just got myself tested every 4 to 6 weeks.
My greatest pleasure with other men is giving oral sex and getting covered... And so therefore it would ruin it for me. And I look at it that the risk is very small one considering my above average.
Mr wouldn't go down on a lady with a dental dam either. Not would I let a guy use one on me.
It's about risks we are happy to take. You have chosen to take a lesser risk.. .. |

It's different choices people make .Some will regret there choice but will be there choice and there problem .id rather not have a problem and take the choice of not risking any sexual problems .Some pics on fab do make me worry .But everyone of us are different and want different sex .I look boring too some but I can't help it . |

Oral with a condom only makes it safer same as penetrative sex... if your having multiple partners the risk is still there.
But We all make choices.. mine is to do what I enjoy. Which is without x I genuinely couldn't enjoy it with a condom. |

I dont think men realise that the woman is always at more risk and how hard it is for a woman to pass anything on via oral. |

They don't tell me for oral anymore as they know I dont/wont....
I think we definitely count as lots of people.. when we first met it wasn't uncommon for us both to have had double figures orally in a week... And for me at least id had multiple guys most weeks for a very long time.
It's only since being with lee ive stopped a lot because it reflected badly on us as a couple... even though we were both doing group meets.
I know the risk.. And after lots of chats with the clinic staff.. Im happy to do oral without.. And sometimes that has been lots of guys in one session. But never ever caught anything. I just get checked |

HPV virus is also a pathogen for oral cancers - which can and do, kill. Just lost my gf to mouth cancer this year - many years of swinging before we met caught up and killed her in 6 months ?? |

"Always best to be safe than sorry . "
Totaly agree with all your comments above! As much as I would love to get intimately familiar with many of the gorgeous ladies and couples on here on a NSA basis, the risks arent worth it to me... so its strictly serial monogomy or polly relationships for me... and condoms until all parties tested. ..
I would love to hear a woman's perspective on dental dams..... ha anyone had one used on them and what does it add, detract from the experience?

N.I.C.E. decide what the NHS gives out and oral STIs are so low risk and impact on their priority list they don't see any reason to approve it.
Especially as people can get free condoms and can buy their own medicated mouthwash.
This lets the NHS focus on those who drink, smoke, engage in dangerous sports and eat the wrong foods ..... because they are far more likely to need medical help than bareback cock suckers. |

You can catch herpes from receiving oral from anyone with cold sores round the mouth and they don't have to even have an open sore. As said earlier most people have the virus but symptoms will only flare up if you are rundown normally, similar to shingles.
Dental dams are ok but very fidgety and seldom stay in place but they are very thin and can still be ok. |

Would they? Oh so it does not work then? Silly me.
Can i get a free crash helmet from the NHS??? It is far more dangerous to ride a motorbike than have sex.. Or perhaps they dont give them out because they don't work?? |
