My wife and I wanted to invite a cpl to our house last night and nearly posted an advert in the meets section.
What things do we need to be carefull of ? What problems have you heard of, if any, and how do you ask them to leave if things are not going right, or you have had enough ? |

We always make the first meet a Social+ i.e. it's a social in a local pub or wine bar. If we feel good we'll invite them to ours.
If there's no spark, we make some excuse about being tired etc. and go home. We then mail them to let them know we don't feel compatible.
Working well so far |

Arrange to meet them in the pub then either set your alarm on your phone (to sound like a call) or get someone to call you half hour after you arrive. You can then fake an emergency if things aren't going well or just say it was a wrong number if they are lol |

Imagine both couples getting a call at the same time!

when i used to swing with my ex we alway met in a pub had our own code if she was happy she would sit so you could tell she had stockings on ,you could tell how happy or not by how high skirt moved as she sat down, if she was very unhappy her time of month started !!! so we could just leave without inviting them back |

I'd never invite someone to my home I hadn't met socially first and felt comfortable with. As others have suggested meet somewhere neutral to start and take it from there. |

My honest opinion on this subject is meet somewhere public first, having a chat and a flirt over a pint in a pub can be great fun and its a hell of a lot easier to make your excuses and leave if you don't like them, asking someone to leave your home can be very awkward |

Simple answer is: meet socially in a public house, cafe etc. If you are happy to have some fun with the other party/s then of you go, otherwise be honest and tell them. No point in taking up anyones time including your own if there is not going to be an end result. |

We meet away from the home, and then if we decide we don't want to play with someone we just walk away after telling them.
It suits us better this way, plus we are then not letting people know our exact address when there wasn't any need. |

Can't beleive our eyes to see that. It stopped us both in our tracks when we read your first post.
How awful, and how uncomfortable to have to experience that, how embarrassing for her.
How did you get them out of the house after that, and did you intervene? I really don't think I could stand and allow it to happen under my roof... I really don't.

well it all happened so quick.... he had hit her before we knew anything was going on..... her face was completely covered in blood..... i grabbed a towel to find out where the blood was coming from. her nose was a mess..... as i explained he got dressed very quickly called her a few names( not repeatable) and stormed out..... once i cleaned her up and she told me he had always hit her she got dressed and said im leaving too...... i explained she really shouldnt as she had been drinking so had he, but she said if i dont go he could get worse... so suddenly we found oursleves standing in total shock looking around at all the blood that was now in the hall etc etc.... took us over an hour to claen it up.......wasnt until we sat down and it sunk in we realised we had a lucky escape asi t cold have been alot worse, by that i mena for us if he had turned!!! |

of all the things i had worried about it being our first cpl meet, a guy hittting his wife had never been one of my worries!!!! What made it worse was when we first met for a drink he had appeared so nice and told us he hated bullies, so to see him hit her , i can't begin to tell you how godsmacked i was!!!! |

Although it does pay to be careful...even if you do meet someone in public socially you can never really know what that person is like as you can see from some of the posts above where the guy hit his partner.
Some people are very convincing and can come across as one of the nicest people you have met, if I get any inkling of bad feeling or doubt then I end it there even if I don't know what it is.

"tbh I would meet them outside your home first
and then if things ok, invite them back" We agree meet in a quit pub have a drink and see how things go then you can always move on. Less pressure ! |

It's also worth having some sensible basic rules between you. We have a rule that both are happy, or it stops.
Otherwise you could get the situation where one person is having a great time, while the other is suffering a bad one.
While it might be unpleasnt to ask somebody to leave, you always need to be prepared for that situation. Easiest way is to fake a stomach upset or something similar.
Thankfully this hasn't happend to us yet, |

Also, if you do a pub meet, and you're only 50% sure, don't be afraid to end the night, and ask for another social.
If they will not do another, it's thier loss. We did 3 socials with one of our first couples. They've turned out to be fantastic, and good regular friends |

Meeting anyone for the first time is a bit of a gamble. But I think the most risky is for a single girl to invite a single guy into her home on a first. I wouldn't be at all offended if a girl or couple wanted a social meet in a pub first. At the end of the day they dont know me from a hole in the ground. Trust has to be gained but I like to think I come across as honest and trust worthy and try to put people at ease |

does he not 'attract trouble' ?
one of my best mates is 6ft4 and about 19 stone
he is the most laid back man you could ever wish to meet.
but take him into town and he can be minding his own business and 2 times outta 3 some d*unken buffoon will come and try to pick a fight with him.
i've known him since i was 18 and it's always been the same for the poor bugger |
