Yes, but wouldn't you rather she wanted to wear them, rather than being told she has to?

So now you'll be able to concentrate on your work rather than perving on women in heels

Then you try wearing shoes that fuck with your feet, legs and general posture, hurt like hell and cause crippling bunions if worn regularly. Or just let women wear footwear that is smart if necessary yet personally and healthily appropriate and choose when and if they want to wear heels. Oh, and before the old tie analogy gets trotted out I wore a tie every day for a decade. I never found it so uncomfortable I wanted to cry. Or injured myself as a result of wearing one.

Those are common sense safety precautions. And I bet women have the same rules. Not an item of clothing that serves no purpose other than to make a gender feel objectified because some people think they look nice.

Not quite the same thing, they are worn for your safety. There's absolutely no reason at all for a woman to have to wear heels to do a job.

And in what context is this a complaint may I ask?

So if a work place dress code is coller and tie and a lady wears a suit type outfit what would they wear on there feet ?

I was talking to a lady at work today about this subject and she said nobody tells her what she can or cannot wear for work. It's an office environment and very relaxed dress code as long as folks don't come in dressed scruffily.

The lady said that she dresses as the mood takes her. Today she was wearing a turtle neck top, fairly tight fitting, a knee length skirt, nude stockings (yes I asked her during the conversation) and shoes with 4" heels. She looked very nice, quite sexy really. I complimented her on the way she looked today. She said she always tries to look nice but nobody is going to dictate to her what she wears. I make her right on that.

I wear a suit with shirt and tie for work. I don't have to but that's my choice. I meet my company's Clients and in my opinion if I am wearing a tie it projects a more business like image. I feel better dressed when wearing a tie with my suit. I am comfortable wearing a tie.

Mind you, with me it may be just an age thing! haha

Neat shoes to match the suit I would imagine. Doesn't have to be heels. Last time I wore a trouser suit, shirt and tie I wore flat shoes with it.

A business wear workplace, that involves a collar and tie? Yes I work in one and I wear trouser suits with flat shoes, is that a problem? It is still business attire

No ones suggesting trainers are worn but there is such thing as flat shoes?!

I've never worn heels to a job interview or to work and I work in an office

Do you have flat shows that aren't trainers? Because I sure do. And I have always worn flats to job interviews. Wincing when I stand up or twisting my ankle doesn't imbue me with confidence.

I really do think men should have to wear heels for a day.

I don't mind wearing a suit or shirt and blazer personally but I do think women generally have it a bit easier.

I have always worked somewhere where women aren't told what to wear. Nothing new here

"I really do think men should have to wear heels for a day."

I can manage about 1/2 hour in mine. I have no idea how anyone can do a whole day.

There's a world of difference between smart clothes/shoes and sexy clothes/shoes.

The expectation that women should wear sexy clothes rather than smart is such a last Century concept. Unfortunately in many workplaces it's one of those un-written rules, making it hard to take action against.
