seen quite a few profiles now with the max of 20 friends but no veri's, few pics and profiles that say fuck all.
and whilst i don't wish to berate single blokes, i would say they are more 'guilty' than anyone of this.
what's with the 'collecting friends' ? |

nothing wrong with prospecting, and not everyone is here to swing, strange as that may seem.
I know there's Facebook or Friends Reunited, but if that's what people want to do, then let them do it.

well questioning the validity of profiles....I dont see much wrong in this, my friends list is for people iam speaking to, hopefully they are real, fucks me off seeing a friends list for someone on 2hrs and they have an arms length of friends, use the site how u want but I tend to think of using the site for people who may be of interest and not just on to perv pics or steal them. So to the OP yes I see ur point, I feel I've the right to scrutinise profiles for the very fact I dont like fakes, and this is how I use the site.. |

I've more than 20 friends on my list and does that mean my profile should be questioned?
But, as you know me anyway Paddy, I wouldn't expect you to question the validity of it
My point is, does it really matter what anyone else has on their OWN profile? If you don't like the content of it then move onto one that you do like the look of, it really isn't that difficult to work out!

lol BB m8 yes i do know u and met ya on various occasions....but the Op has a point, u start adding people willy nilly to ur profile and all u get is someone pervingthe pics, or of course stealing the pics...it does happen,its my way ive worked the site since ive joined...and I refused most friends invites now with no communication, or add and delete after a certain amount of time. My time on the site is mainly for meeting people sometimes regardless of distance, but im not gonna add someone with nothingon their profile just for the sake of having a "friend"-as I said, unless they are communicating somehow its fine.. |

i was thinking that 'to me' (and that is the key phrase here), profiles with no pics, no veri's but a list of 'friends' as long as your arm just doesn't add up
but then again, as a poster put above, not everyone uses the site to meet
for some, wanking off while exchanging messages with someone else is enough |

Its part and parcel of a free site unfortunately. Many are not real (some maybe are - who cares).
Move on, find those real people that have pics, that are validated and do actually meet others.
In order to not receive loads of pointless friends requests we have every filter on. tbh we dont get much mail these days now we have all those filters, but at least the people that do contact us have decent profiles, photos, valids etc |

Forgot to add - we only have people we have met on our friends list and those we would like to meet - however if we don't get a meet within a few weeks - we'll remove them. |

Isn't it a newbie thing? The excitement of the new, when you don't know how it works so you're sending compliments and friend invites to all and sundry who seem to be so nice? I wouldn't hang somebody for it even if I won't accept their invite, either.
I would hang them for not learning their lesson after a year, though. |

I've asked politely after a period of messaging back and forth if the content of my friends list would like to be my friends. I would regard an unsolicited friend request (not that it's going to happen) as a bit rude |

Well your profile only shows a maximum of 20 friends. Now i would consider myself not to really use the friends option but ive still got about 28 on it. People can do what they like with their profile. Would you like it if people questioned yours |

wouldn't bother me in the slightest
everyone has the right to an opinion and as i said in response to a similar reaction above, this is a forum ie a place where we can exchange opinions and ideas
and that fact that we do have different opinions on things is why i enjoy the forums so much - cos i look at points people have made and think 'oh yeah, i hadn't thought about it like that' |

it maxes out at 20 from what a viewer can see so that's the best interpretation of what i can give as being maxed out |

1) glad to see that if you have 21 friends... or 500 friends... nice to see that people are treated with the same suspicion....
2) after reading this... I think more people will probably consider hiding there friends lists.... and after reading this, I wouldn't blame them at all.....

i don't see the opening thread as being judgemental
it opened a forum for other peoples ideas along with trends i've noticed when browsing profiles that have contacted me
i get a lot of views & messages from single 'straight' or 'bi-curious' men and 1 common denominator is that they happen to have no verifications, lengthy site memberships, few details, few pics and friends lists of 20+
and that is the 'trend' i was trying to draw other peoples ideas on |

The thing people seem to forget is that when people first join the site, some dont really know what they are doing. Some will add all and sundrey to friends and as time goes on realise that they have maybe spoke to that person once or twice and will then start to remove these so called friends. I know at the start that is what we did. Now we are selective on who is added to friends. Its the same with pictures and profiles.
As time goes on people realise what they are looking and wanting from the site, and how they use it will change through time. Sometimes circumstances change and people have to adapt to those things.
