I would only complain if there is something generally wrong. But there are a lot of people out there who like to see what they can get for free

I always get something when I complain because I always complain for a genuine reason. I have worked in customer service and wouldn't complain for the sake of things and even when I do complain I am nice about it. It's probably why they just give me stuff on handouts lol

I don't believe in this. I listened to one table complain at a restaurant because her dish contained garlic. She was apparently allergic. She said no one asked if she was allergic. The manager tried to explain she should have said to the waiter. She was having none of it. No doubt gonna complain to the company and get vouchers. Can you imagine a waiter asking every customer do they have any allergy

We are increasingly living in a he has it I deserve it I want it society, where greed and envy are the determining factors. I have worked in retail over 20 years now and this type of attitude is becoming more prevalent.

As someone who works in retail no the customer isn't always right. In fact the customer can sometimes be a bit of a bell end

it wouldn't take long to ask each customer, but they're not a medical service so i don't see why they should. i think the menus have the ingredients and allergy warnings also?

the customer isn't always right, no. that's just a saying that means they're paying so we'll try and make sure you're happy to.

The customer is always right, but they're not always correct. In my job, I do occasionally have custmers complaining to see what they can get out of it, when they see an opportunity. Case in point: another customer paid for his fuel by mistake instead of his own. This gentleman whose fuel had been paid for, refused to pay for all of his and wanted to pay the other customer's, which was £20 cheaper, arguing that my company would be £20 in the black, if he paid for all of his. When I refused, he started talking to the queue, inciting one or two onto his side, saying that it was our fault. In the end, after 2-3 calls trying to get the manager to come down from the main store, the customer paid for all of his fuel after the manager told him, 'next time you're in the store, ask for Steve'. He never came to speak to me to have my side of the story. Obviously, he's been given a sweetener.

Well most companies have a no questions asked return policy.... I know amazon does..... so that has emboldened the consumer to think all companies are that way....

No the customer is not always right. My son works in a bike shop, loads of people try it on to get discounts, take stuff back they broke themselves ect. Customers take the piss a lot.

I recently saw a woman trying to take an expensive Hoover back to Argos because she used it a few times and didn't like it.
