Bareback and Risky. Would you tell

So you heard a rumour about a girl years ago. She had THE BIG STI. Thought nothing of it cos you didn't know her like that.

Forward ten years.

You find her on fab with her fella, they like it bareback.

Each to his own

But then you find a mate on here has been with her. He tells you he went bare with her. You hide your concern. The rumour was a long time ago and you have no evidence.

Will you tell him to get tested? How? What reasons would you give? Help!

Everyone is entitled to make their own decisions. At the same time they have to accept the consequences xx

if he doesnt get tested hes as big a risk to anyone as anyone else. get tested, take your mate with you and leave the past and rumours out of it.

If I were in them shoes I would Just tell them if that were the case and explain why. I would also stress the fact that it was a rumour and could all be fake. But either way with bareback sex involved it's always a risk even without the 'BIG STI'.

We certainly wouldn't. Especially not on a meet.

Is it even conceivable that the girl has something and is knowingly spreading it? I've read some weird shit...

Please don't waste your time with my idiotic posts in bare back threads... I find this subject pops up daily and I try to the best of my ability to post the most idiotic things I can think of at that moment...

With the amount of debate that goes on in the forums about bare back and sti's ... I'm starting to wonder if Fab should make it compulsory to fill out a sti questionnaire before we all sign up... so we can all be on the same page...

I truly find it sad that people don't know the risks of barebacking on a swinging/sex/dating site.

Op, everyone on here having sex with different partners should go and get regularly tested even if you use condoms. So there's no need to tell your friend ten year old rumours to get him to a STI screen, he should do it anyway.

While I agree that it is frightening and sad how little some people know about STI and the risk of barebacking, I don't think sarcasm is the way to go on about on these threads. You only foster people's misknowledge cos their naivety won't recognise your sarcasm. Think about it!

You just have to do your part as a mate. No need to speak of the rumour. Especially if there's no evidence and it happened a while ago. Everyone sexually active needs to be getting themselves tested regularly. Bareback or not.

Just need to remind him of the risk of barebacking and to ensure that he gets himself tested. He's old enough to know the risks behind it all. We all do.

Tell him to get tested because of a STI she may or may not have had 10 years age, no

Hes an adult surely he knows himself if he goes bare theres a chance he may catch something so either he already gets tested or he simply does not care and if its the later i doubt being told would make a difference

If she had an STI 10yrs ago obviously she was treated otherwise she would be seriously ill or dead now, if she had a killer STI like HIV or Heb C she would be breaking the law & could even face man slaughter charges if she knew she was ill.

Most STI's are quite easy to treat with a weeks supply of antibiotics, it sounds like you are trying to discredit the lady in question & remember before making accusations she can sue you for deformation of character.

Actually there are studies, particularly the PARTNER study that show a sero-discordant couple ie. one Hiv positive and the other negative where the positive partner is on treatment and viral load is undetectable, that there were no recorded transmissions of the virus in around 50,000 cases of unprotected sex between the partners.... makes for an interesting read. The experts conclude that there is virtually zero per cent chance of passing the virus on when on successful treatment

What she did, or didn't do, 10 years ago is an utter irrelevance

Getting tested is part of routine practice for many and if it's something that needs a decade old rumour before you do it then it's a bit late

No, I wouldn't tell him to get tested. A few reasons for that one being that I'd assume he got tested anyway, another that a ten year old rumour is exactly that...a rumour and yet another its not my business.

For the record, the rumours were from a very good intermediary but I discounted them as rumours until I saw the exposure to unsafe sex being the main preference for play. We are all smutty 4krs here but exposing everyone to risk is surely not part of the bargain here...Or is it?

What does that have to do with it? Surely either and both sexes are equally capable of passing on HiV? If you knew, the original stigma for this as attached to the male homosexual community.

Have you told your friend how irresponsible you think he is for barebacking and of the danger you feel he is putting himself in.

I find it odd that this woman is the villain in your story and your friend the innocent victim who's behaviour is not being criticised. If he has unprotected sex and contracts an STI that is his responsibility but your moral crusade seems intent on vilifying a woman based on a 10 year old rumour and is devoid of any intent to educate people

Women's sexual practices tends to receive more criticisms in general. Not saying that's what you were doing. Just wondering the number of times you hear about male friends sti and no one seems to bat an eyelid but becomes news or gossip when it's a woman's.
