hotel booked, been let down

A dilemma.

Arranged a meet and booked a hotel for today. But he is poorly.

None of my fab friends can step in.

Cannot get a refund.

Really unsure about meeting a replacement. Tempted to not bother.

but a meet out, if you were local we'd meet if you liked our profile. These meets can be the best. We love impromptu plays.

That's happened to me twice! I still stayed in the hotel both times, just made a night of it. I like hotels anyway so was a win/win for me

Something like this happened to us when on holiday... we advertised a meet and also used the "see who is near" feature on the mobile phone version of the site.

We found someone who looked good and was nearby, met for a drink on the priviso it was a get-to-know-you drink, but it turned out really well, we all got on and ended up having a great time

In your situation I wouldn't have bothered looking for a replacement meet on the day. I put a lot of effort into meeting that one person so changing it to someone new would throw me off balance so to speak.

I would expect the poorly person to at least offer half the room rate though.
