I cannot accomodate. Combination of boomerang kids still living with me from time to time.
So if I want to meet I'll often post a hotel meet. Having been stung for the cost, I now book when someone shows an interest which gives me total flexibility on where I meet, rather than book a hotel in Oxford and find that someone from Gloucester is up to meet but unwilling to travel.
The downside is that with nothing booked, often, nothing happens.
Any advice? |

"Surely you don't book a hotel and then hope for meets? Why not arrange a meet and then book a hotel? "
That was the question Steve. If I wait for a meet then book, often, nothing happens.. whereas when I am specific about the hotel I get offers albeit have to change hotel or pay twice. |

I book a hotel where and when it's convenient for me, and then arrange a meet. I never seem to have any problems, and I certainly wouldn't change my arrangements to suit the other party!
You can also usually cancel up to 1pm on the day without paying |

"Seems crazy booking a hotel when you've not got no definite meet planned!
Have you considered just trying a club? X"
I have tried clubs and there are some great ones, but sometimes I just want the intimacy of a very private meet.

That seems a terribly expensive way of doing things tbh. If that's the only way you can do it , stick to hotels where you can cancel the room free of charge / only pay on check in |

I've certainly done the cancelling thing but often I have taken the risk of motorway cancelling (at my risk) on a maybe |

Book a cancellable room, and if you've had no firm commitment of a meet on the day it's supposed to be, cancel it. It does seem an odd way round of doing it - I organise the meet then arrange the hotel, but I suppose I'm a woman so maybe it's different. |

I'd not jump through anyone else's hoops for starters, like changing the hotel with no guarantee they'd turn up to the new one.
I'd chat and get to know people more, do a social and take it slow. Then book a hotel after she's agreed to it. If then she cancels, you can commiserate with your right hand that you'd done everything possible to mitigate bad circs.
Unless you're loaded.....If so, gimme £20. |

As we all know though it's far easier for a woman to get a meet on here than a man - though I see your point with regard to booking at your convenience. |

A woman could post a meet in Aleppo and still not have problems getting ten blokes to show up. |

The majority of my meets are hotel based. We arrange a date, sort out the location / costs & then book.
I generally reserve a rate that can be cancelled unless the deal is that good & it's a price I can afford to write off if need be.

That's rather distasteful bearing in mind the genocide that took place there

maybe part of the problem is booking it when the meet is only at a "maybe" stage. wait til you are both sure and its a yes all round then make the plans. Maybe just means your not sure about meeting so going ahead and booking it at that point could add pressure to the woman who isnt sure and will more than likely end up being a no. |
