social meets

Seems like a lot of us enjoy a social meet before taking the next step.

I find it fun, and its less pressure. But I find them more nerve-racking than getting straight down to business meets. I'm not a big drinker so usually just muddle through.

Anyone else have this issue?

it can be nerve wracking but that's part of the excitement, the anticipation of meeting someone new

I enjoy them too once I've relaxed. I'm usually confident in other aspects of life!

Is there something in particular that bothers you?

I'm just thinking if you could pinpoint something you could work on it.

I remember my first social and all I was worried about was if people listened in. But they don't so I got over that.

I guess there is also an element of 'what if xxxxx doesn't like me in person', so there is a fear of them saying 'sorry not for me' and walking off into the sunset

Yeah that could be it. I'm fine once the person I've met is normal and not a wacko. And I guess I'm always easy to spot (very tall) so am conscious ill be spotted. But I know in reality if someone seeing me having a drink with someone they wont think anything. Haha

Yep we love what basically amounts to a job interview and a "we will let you know" social only scenario....NOT

We are happy to meet socially with a view to playing that night if we are all feeling like it, with no pressure x

I'm very happy to meet socially as althougb it can be a bit nervy, if you hit it off it makes any fun less ackward and more fun.

Trouble is getting a social meet in the first place
