Just read a status from a woman saying she has hiv so get tested . Hope she is not taking the piss feel sorry for whoever has played with her but not a thing to joke about !? |

HIV positive and AIDS diagnoses are no longer the death sentences they were. ( They are also more common in straight females than other groups, or so I've heard. )
However announcing it this way is crass to say the least. If it's meant as a joke, it's in very poor taste. |

Maybe it's a good way to announce it to be honest. People on here sleep about and if hiv is spreading in that area of the country it's a good way to warn people that there is people out there who could have it. In certain circles. |

Was going to write to her to make sure as I don't think if it is not a joke the right way to publicise it . If true she should privately write to them all. |

Unless you can remember the names and addresses of every meet, this is probably the best way to do it. Maybe a couple of notices at her local club too.
Having said that, I do hope it is hack or joke, because even though HIV is no longer a death sentence, it is a life changing illness. |

Fair play to her for being open about it. I can't imagine it's been a barrel of laughs for her
Would you rather she kept quiet about it and her partners would be none the wiser while they carried on playing with and potentially infecting more people from the sure

Thinking logically may have been difficult as she comes to terms with her diagnosis, she chose the route that suited her current mindset.
Not ideal, but until I am in a similar situation I don't know what I would do. |

Unless they have signed up just to tell people I'm suspicious, the profile is only 2 weeks old with no verifications ...
Another way to look at it would be as a good way to start a panic on the site as you don't know who they have played with and who those people have played with ...
If genuine then it's terrible if a prank it's a sick one |

Sad news for the lady concerned .. and her partners ... and their partners etc. etc.
Whilst it's not something any of us like to think of we have to be realistic and understand swinging can be a risky business. Never take someone's word for it when they tell you they're 'clean', play safe. Nobody is accountable for your safety and health other than you.

Hiv isn't the death sentence it once was, I know of a guy with hiv and lives and works a standard normal life! he's been risked assessed for work as a mechanic, Other than general routine of pills and blood work he has a normal life. But he did catch it by a hedonistic lifestyle, I know it's gonna be said but it is always best to play safe. I do admire the woman if it is true, That is a brave thing to announce but good on her for telling them. |

If you take meds regularly and have an undetected viral load for 6 months there is no risk of passing it on..

If we are having sex with a number of partners,statistically we will have had sex with someone with hiv, but if we are practising safer sex,it shouldn't matter..

Good on her for making it public and taking a preventative method to stop the spread.
I'm sure it would have been far easier for her to slip away silently never mentioning it, leaving those she may have caught it from or spread it to to carry on unaware.
Even if it stops only one more infection it has been worth while doing. |

That's Hepatitis not Herpes ffs.
Plus herpes is prevelent in over 75% of the population. See that cold sore, yes that's herpes!
