Feeling nervous about my first hotel meet

Grays, Essex

We have booked a hotel for Thursday for my husbands birthday & have 3 or 4 visitors popping in through the afternoon evening

We've had meets before but always in a club if home, I'm nervous that the hotel will refuse our guests entry

Does anyone have any advice/experience in this

Thanks in advance

You should be ok as long as you don't cut any glory holes in the doors.

If it's a big hotel it will be fine .There don't know who's who .Just meet in bar or give them your room number .So they can just come up with out asking anyone .Have fun x

Typically it's best for them to wait outside in the lobby and for you to go down and meet with them and bring them up as there's usually secruity measures to prevent otherwise.

Typically you should check in first and get the keycard/codes so you don't have to deal with the hotel staff at all.

If you've picked a busy hotel the chances are no one will notice. They can't stop you having friends in your room but you have to consider the other guests. As long as it's not late night & you're not making too much noise nobody will complain. Always good to choose a hotel that doesn't have key card entry, i.e. people can just walk in & get to the lifts or stairs with no security.

We have had hotel meets. Never had a problem. Meet them outside. Or at reception. Or bar if they got one. So noone is wondering about looking lost. And its normally ok to have someone visiting you in your room to. Have a good time.

Try to remember to keep the noise down....bit difficult when your in the throes so to speak...but on one occasion we had the people in the next room complain.....on another time we got a round of applause when we were leaving at about 2am....not sure if it was because of relief that we were leaving or appreciation

Depends on the hotel. Some have keycard access at the lifts/stairs which means you have to meet visitors downstairs. Others don't. In the U.K, it seems to often be the cheap chains that do this, while a lot of more upmarket hotels don't bother.

Not a bad idea to meet people downstairs anyway... you can out anyone you're not happy with...

How wonderful: that's the way to do it!

How envious they will have been...
