Mediocre porn would get me off better than mediocre erotica. Good erotica is better than good porn. But I find good erotica very, very rare. It is mostly abysmal. |

I used to enjoy reading some of the older Nexus books that were set back in Edwardian or Victorian times (naughty maids featuring heavily!). Then i moved on to Black Lace titles, which were a bit pot luck as to how filthy they were. After that they also tended to focus on BDSM a bit too much for my tastes, so didn't bother again.

Porn serves me directly the act, there is no place for imagination whatsoever, I passively watch what the director's vision of sex is. I am not mentally engaged with it, except engaging with my penis but that's another story  it's more mechanical than anything.
On the other hand reading allows my imagination to work, even if the scene is very much detailed with words, I still can add something that comes from me to it.
So I much prefer reading, however, I sometimes enjoy porn because like the football club of Marseille's motto says : 'Straight to the goal' |
