Some people don't approve of people using military uniforms as part of their 'selling' point. Others don't approve of people being paid to kill, maim or otherwise cause injury or distress to others.

I won't meet someone who has a picture of themselves in uniform on here. I personally believe that it's disrespectful to have such a photo on a site like this.

Aside from that, I'm also not impressed by the simple act of being in the military, it doesn't turn me on, as it were. I know it's some people's thing, but it isn't mine so it wouldn't be a deciding factor in whether to meet someone.

Or to be paid to protect civilians from genocide, deliver disaster relief, rescue drowning migrants, tackle the Ebola crisis....

I'm of the opinion that if you need to use you uniform to get a meet then you have nothing interesting to say

This.

OP, you will find many women like military men.

I don't see why any particular job would be a turn on.

It is about the person, not the career.

And at the risk of being seen as anti-patriotic, I have yet to understand why someone would be silly enough to sign up to a position where they are at a politician's whimsy as to who they might have to kill or be killed by.

I prefer milkmen.

I'm merely quoting from replies in the forum over the years. Not direct copies but the gist of the response. Don't assume that because I've said it, it's my opinion. Indeed, I didn't actually refer to myself. I indicated I was referring to others by saying 'some people'.

Some people have strong opinions on here.. the forums can be a tough place .

The silver lining is that military people are fit and healthy... so use that to your advantage when trying to meet people.

See, you are deeming any anti-military post as "disrespectful."

Why?

Am I not allowed to ask why you were silly enough to hold a gun and be fired at because politicians decided that we should be at war?

So the military people keep saying.

I would say not since World War 2. Apart from possibly the Falklands, wars have been fought in foreign countries (and not always to best effect, either).

Are you fighting for your country or for some politicians whim? Are you defending your country or an oilfield?

Oh, and by the way, being a soldier does not entitle you to sex.

I must admit I like squaddies but I find many military men on here to be rather arrogant, think that their uniform has some great pulling power and a few of the ones I have chatted to and met don't seem to hold women in high esteem. Now of course this may be the exception than the norm but it has been my personal experience nevertheless.

In answer to your questions.

1. Yes there are many more , often around the town's / cities where there are bases.

2. Yes there are see above.

3. You'd need to ask the profiles stipulating that, my suggestion is if you see something that excludes you on a profile move on to one that includes you, it's far more productive use of your time.

People have the freedom not to join the military, it's a good career for some, but obviously it not everyone's ideal profession. I think its fair enough to say that any profession would not be to your liking, but I think it is disrespectful to question the mentality of an entire profession.

I'm not saying it should be against the law to share said opinion or anything like that, but I do find it rude.

"I don't want to put down what soldiers do. I just question their judgment and rationale.

And yet in those 2 sentences you endeavour to put squaddies down ?

To question someones judgement and mentality for doing something that a lot of people fear doing for a living.

Most serving and ex personnel signed up for any amount of reasons some to get out of their crappy lifestyle others to feel like they are actually contributing to the security of their fellow countrymen and yet still others who follow in possibly a long line of family members into the service.

Military personnel don't think they have some sort of god given right to meets on sites like this one but there are a lot of ladies and men who enjoy the scenario of meeting a person who wears combats and mess dress as lets face it traffic warden uniforms or similar doesn't have the same effect.

Ask the people who greeted the Army with open arms when the local government staff couldn't cope when the floods came or the people of Northern Ireland that would secretly thank the troops for letting them have a security force they knew weren't going away until the violence came to an end out there.

Some people love to have a pop at service personnel at every opportunity god knows why as they are doing what they have been ordered to do by higher ranks above them and yes ultimately the politicians.

Want to have a go at squaddies ? start by having a go at your local MP's and remember to tell them "if you vote in parliament to go to help other countries train their own people how to bring stability to their countries after they have had years of being under threat every day that you wont be voting for them at the next elections"

The only reason I was "having a pop" at military personnel is that they do what politicians require of them. That is not always a clever thing, is it?

Just how far back in history are you going with this remark please ?

The British military are still regarded to this day as probably second to none when the shit hits the fan when resolving internal issues in places all over the world and defending our colonies.

In troubled places such as Cyprus , Hong Kong and even the Republic of China where the British forces have been needed to quell uprisings and then helping with other such forces in Sarajevo tells me that those countries weren't exactly "invaded".

Please take 5 minutes to read up on the battle honours on the Colours of any Regiment, Air force squadron or Naval ship then figure out that we were often almost begged to intervene to bring peace.

I make no apologies for it but my weakness is military men, that doesn't mean to say I'd sleep with anyone in the services they need to have a personality and sex appeal outside of their uniform but generally if it was between services and non services I'd go for the services. But that said I have seen a few personalities on here recently that kind of give the wider armed forces a bad name

".....""if you vote in parliament to go to help other countries train their own people how to bring stability to their countries after they have had years of being under threat every day that you wont be voting for them at the next elections""....

This statement is questionable as history tells us a different story. Indeed, the U.K. has invaded all but 22 out of 200 countries in the world over the years and not all to bring peace and tranquillity.

"Our colonies?" What would those be?

I most certainly shan't! I merely said your statement was questionable because in more cases than not - and I think I will go back to the year 752 - the UK or England or whatever we were has invaded more counties and in some cases colonised them than it has been invited to do so for peaceful purposes.

"I really don't understand why being in the military would make a difference.

I'm of the opinion that if you need to use you uniform to get a meet then you have nothing interesting to say

I'm not trying to use my uniform to get a meet, just wondering why some profiles state they aren't interested in military men. And for people to question the military and why people join is what's wrong with this country. its extremely disrespectful

See, you are deeming any anti-military post as "disrespectful."

Why?

Am I not allowed to ask why you were silly enough to hold a gun and be fired at because politicians decided that we should be at war?

You can ask whatever you want, it's a free country. But only because the people in the military risk their lives to make sure you have the life you do

You do know he is 19 ....... take it easy on him"

when i was wearing the 'green skin' in Northern Ireland i knew one of the things that we as a country hold dear is that we have the right to free speech and that even the Military can and will be open to criticism within a democracy..

maybe they don't teach such things in basic nowadays..

OP, look up the quote by Voltaire/ Evelyn Beatrice Hall..

for the record, personally i find it lacks respect for the uniform when guys are only about being in the Military as with the emergency services but for some its an attraction so it wont change..

good luck but 'you' are not only a squaddie..

The Falklands is still regarded as a "colonial posting" is it not ? Also listed are such places as British Antartic Territory, British Virgin Islands , Cayman Islands ,Gibraltar, Ascension Islands other such places are available to google !

Heres a clue for you ......... Look for the Union flag top left hand corner on 16 such flags for reference as to the UK's dependants

Please start the MechILF club. ..... I love a mechanic me; my ex husband and my ex girlfriend were car mechanics and find I have a lot of random encounters with mechanics in various areas. And nope nothing to do with wanting cheap car repairs as I can't drive. Not sure what it is but gets my engine roaring

Some people don't approve of people using military uniforms as part of their 'selling' point. Others don't approve of people being paid to kill, maim or otherwise cause injury or distress to others.

Or to be paid to protect civilians from genocide, deliver disaster relief, rescue drowning migrants, tackle the Ebola crisis.... "

I read a brilliant book called 'Dominion' about how we lost WW2. "

It wasn't "we".

We have nothing more in common with the bunch Harold was leading than the bunch William was leading.

This mental notion of an Anglo Saxon purity is as bizarre as it is wrong.

Angles came from the Rhineland and the Saxons from East Germany.

The Normans came from NW France which is a damn sight closer to th UK than the aforementioned.

The Falklands were a massive gamble by Thatcher as she was in political trouble at the time. She gambled lives for her political survival.

Perhaps people should also take a trip to Kenya and meet the families and survivors of those tortured by British forces?

As William Hague said;

"The British government recognises that Kenyans were subject to torture and other forms of ill-treatment at the hands of the colonial administration.

"The British government sincerely regrets that these abuses took place and that they marred Kenya's progress towards independence."

Mr Hague said 5,228 victims would receive payments totalling £19.9m following an agreement with lawyers acting for the victims, who have been fighting for compensation for a number of years.

I'm surrounded by military and I've met a fair few. I have had no problems at all with meeting them. They have been respectful, honest and a few are long-term friends. They move about a lot with their jobs which can't be helped but can be frustrating but do an amazing job. I have nothing but respect for them and when a guy turns up in his uniform....it so does it for me. As would a fireman, a police officer, a plumber, an office worker. The uniform makes no difference to how the person is with you. If they choose to show they are military on their profile...so what! I choose to show my tits!!!!

No but too many do use it and due bad experiences it's why it an instant no if someone mentions it me now.

Fuck me I've read some of the posts and I'm shocked.

I'm a tree hugging, open minded, peace lover and consider myself a citizen of the planet. I don't stand up or sing the national anthem, not especially proud to be British. Why? Because I joined the army to be a hero and it all went wrong.

Some of you can fuck right off though.. Unlike a mechanic, milkman or salesman. Our uniform was earned through blood, sweat, tears and hard times. If my pal wants to wear his combats in the hope it gets him some poontang, he fucking can. Though personally I'd rather die than sleep with someone in any military scenario. Unless it's beating some little scrote with a bbdildo for wearing the uniform - when he hadn't joined up, especially if it was to get poontang!

But that's not what has rattled me.. It's the fucking idiocy of those of you intelligent enough that the army is the tool of a corrupt government. That soldiers are too stupid to see it, stupid enough to hold a gun and allow themselves to be put in harms way.

You can't join as a soldier after 25 and an officer 30yrs old. But they recruit far younger and brainwash as far back as carnivals, games, stories and history lessons, Remembrance day and the cadets. The entire nation has been brainwashed about history and the army continues to be a tool of enforcement and political power.

So if most of the Nation is stupid enough to vote for these corrupt idiots. Don't you think you owe the young men and women who volunteer some credit. They are as dumb as everyone else and believe they are doing the right thing for the right reasons. That's what they're told by the army, their family, the press and the public. So perhaps they aren't so stupid.. Perhaps they are brave, self sacrificing, adventurous and strong people.. Deliberately mislead by clever creeps.

Personally I will not allow my sons to join, I'm ashamed of my time, I'm ashamed I couldn't see the mistake I made till I joined up, ashamed I didn't conscientiously object in Iraq. But I know I did it all because I wanted to help people, not even my own people. Like most soldiers do.

Fire, police, doctors and nurses... They should be your first uniforms of choice. If it's a hero thing.

I agree in some aspects mate, I didn't join to be a hero, I joined to make a difference. Albeit probably a small difference in the scheme of things but at least some difference. Anyone who volunteers to sign up to the military deserves respect, they literally risk their lives everyday is shit conditions, voluntarily.

On the uniform thing you're spit on, you earn everything you get in the military and so far for me, I've loved every minute of it

"Fuck me I've read some of the posts and I'm shocked.

Making a difference IS being a hero. I hated my time, just liked my friends. Like the nay sayers say though.. You ARE a tool of a corrupt, baby killing nation. The baby killing nations politicians are the ones who will put a gun in your hand and at some point you may be told to kill a baby... I was ordered to run over Iraqi civvies in a tank. I didn't do it. Don't do what Marine A did and take personal responsibility for deciding who does.. Decide who lives when the time comes. And seriously bro.. If you want to make a difference.. Get the fuck out and be a nurse, carer, doctor, paramedic, fireman or policeman.

I'm not sure I'd even fight for the UK on home soil anymore. Not sure they deserve it.

I read a brilliant book called 'Dominion' about how we lost WW2.

It wasn't "we".

We have nothing more in common with the bunch Harold was leading than the bunch William was leading.

This mental notion of an Anglo Saxon purity is as bizarre as it is wrong.

Angles came from the Rhineland and the Saxons from East Germany.

The Normans came from NW France which is a damn sight closer to th UK than the aforementioned."

The Norman's weren't from France though. They were just pesky vikings who raided all of Europe, they earn given that land so they'd protect it from more pesky vikings. So the Saxons didn't really beat the vikings, well one lot, then got owned by vikings.

Bloody vikings!

No one is stopping you but when you say something in public you must expect a response. Perfectly reasonable.

A lot better than trying to speak on behalf of someone else.

A fair point.

The normans were in France before they headed over here. Most of the North and west of the UK has been part of the viking lands for centuries and many parts of Northern Scotland have more in common with the Norse than with the British even today.

Britons were European as well for that matter.

Given that humans evolved in Africa and we are an island, it's no huge leap of logic to realise that everyone was an immigrant at some point.

Unless you believe that God put us here himself.

If you do, there are plenty medical professionals ready to help.

You'll see frequent mention of personal preferences in Fab and whilst curiosity can be motivating you to discover more about them, it's usually a wiser use of energy to act differently.

Put your efforts into finding those of us who do like military people or have no block to you.

It's tough enough for most of you single guys that adding extra hassle is not worth it. Good luck!

Not me

I prefer military to civilians

Any reasons in particular? "

In my experience military men are driven, focus, mature minded, fit, easy to get along with, great sex etc

Civilian men are just civilian men

Been with more military men than civilians

And i know who I would rather spend my time with

There seems a notion that if you aren't military you are somehow one of the lesser people.... the snivelling cowards warm and cosy at home while being protected by the armed services and your respect is demanded ... I don't like this notion!

I've seen, first hand, the behaviour of some military personnel in this country who when socialising in an environment with the people they defend, choose, without provocation to cause trouble, fight, attack. My experiences colour my judgement.

Note I said some, not all, I'm quite sure most spend their home time with their families or I simply don't identify them as military because they don't broadcast their presence .... the ones who seem to demand respect seem to be the ones who want to bottle the civilian for his sideways glance.

I think it's about personal choice... I'm ex mil now working the private circuit in the Middle East, a few of my pics are from there. If a woman or couple ask what I do intell then. If they don't like it then that's fine, plenty more fish in the sea so to speak. Never come across anyone that disrespects what I've done or do now, most think it's pretty cool!

I have also seen violence towards service personnel just because they are standing in a pub minding their own business and are easily identifiable and even some pubs that have a warning sign posted that service personnel will not be allowed entry and yet some little toerag selling drugs is allowed go figure!

Youll find good and bad in the mechanic the postman etc anyone can be an asshole in life its just that when service personnel are caught doing such things not only do they suffer in a normal court they often get booted out of their career by military courts.

The local papers are full of non military going to court for fighting etc on a Saturday night and given a slap on the wrist of a £50 fine or less but its front page news if a squaddie smacks someone for taking the piss calling them baby killers.

Young lads will be young lads in all walks of life and most of the more senior squaddies like you've said just want to go home and be part of a normal family life when not deployed.

Thank God the Irish and the Russians aren't looking at this easy to access site!

"Any other military people on here? Or people interested in meeting military people? Also why do some profiles get put off by a lad being in the military

That really isn't the reason its a free country......sorry, you can think that, you can even believe that, but it isn't the reason why the United Kingdom is a free country...."

look at 20th century history for a start. You will soon realise it is

I’m not fussed about the whole ‘man in uniform thing’. However, I find a lot of military guys to be comfortable in their own skins, disciplined, like to cut loose and have fun when they have a chance and aren’t risk averse. And they pick up after themselves! Not speaking for all military guys here but I’ve known a few and they’ve all had those things in common. Those attributes suit my personality so I find myself enjoying their company. So yeah, I like a squaddie or a flyboy if I have the chance.

There are a small minority of poeple out there, that are narrow minded, ignorant, and basically stupid, that have a totally unrealistic often prejudiced view of serving, or ex military, ....i am ashamed to even print this!!!, there are actually folk out there, that will not employ you , as they are scared that if they have to discipline you,you are likely to go beserk and kill them lol, ...or that all former forces, are violent angry loners, with p.t.s.d, alcoholic short fused potential time bombs , yea, sounds ridiculous, but there are still unenlightened poeple out there

This soooooooo fits the profile for the majority of us. Yes, there are numpties in the service - as there are in any walk of life - but most of us are respectful in ways many in society aren't these days, basically down to old fashioned standards and awareness of others. Haters will always hate, but most of us are pretty chilled, easy-going and well balanced. It's true to say that we train for - and sometimes carry out - some of the uglier jobs, but it doesn't make us 'heroes'. We may have decent levels of self-confidence and an unusual sense of humour, but we're basically just ordinary, decent people, by and large. As for the negative comments about us all being 'baby killers' and naive followers of government policies it's just the opinions of the uneducated or terminally stupid by and large - nothing to get too stressed about as it's not based on facts, but the attitude of people who believe the crap our media spout for the most part. We're all entitled to an opinion - it's still the free country our grandfathers fought to retain - and which today's service personnel still believe worthy of standing for, so no thanks required, but don't look down on those who wear the uniform with as much honour as they can muster - you're most definitely targeting the wrong people. Those who live at the sharp end do all they can to avoid causing harm and appreciate life more than most - which may be why we know how to have fun when the opportunity arises. We're highly likely to be adventurous too, but using the uniform as a selling point is pretty poor as an opening gambit.
